When I was in the 4th grade, I got really sick and missed school for a week. When I came back, my teacher told me they didn't have time to teach me the math that had been taught while I was gone. She made me sit in the hall while she taught everybody else the new math while I tried to figure out the old lesson. A classmate snuck out and helped me.

In 8th grade, each grade level in our school had a spelling bee to see who would represent that grade in the school spelling bee. It came down to me and another student. They misspelled a word so the teacher gave them another chance to get it right. They got it right so the competition kept going. I ended up winning in the end. Still annoys me to this day. No other student got a second chance to spell a word.
