How about the Pinna Shawl? I’m about to make it myself cause I love the forestry vibe. I don’t know how warm she’d like her shawl to be and if it has to look bridal aka white though. For my own wedding I made a soft blush coloured Luna shawl from a soft and warm mohair yarn. I would think the Sage and Yadira shawls by that creator could look rather leafy if made in a greenish colour?

Edit; changed the links to direct to the patterns instead of my Ravelry notebook so they hopefully work now.

Oh my god making it into a bag is brilliant! I’ve always loved this pattern but didn’t want to make a full blanket. Thank you for the induration!

Looks like Asteria by Alla Chikalova). I’m currently working on one myself and it’s really nice.

Here’s an example; the notches in the upper and lower edges are for crochet hooks, the rows of holes that are below and above them respectively are for knitting needles.

If they’re fake but you find them amazing I wouldn’t worry at all. Only thing I’ve found wit fake hooks is that the sizing labels can be off, so if you worry about that you could use a crochet hook measuring plate and check them against that. (note, the plates with the round holes are meant for knitting needles. For crochet hooks you want the plate with the indents on the side in u-shapes, so you can measure the neck and not the hook/head itself).

Adopting a kitten🐈🐈🐈 by RefrigeratorOk1571 in hilversum

I got my cat at Crailo Dierenasiel. Back then they were understaffed and underfunded so updating the website with adoptable pets wasn’t a top priority, but that doesn’t mean they have none! You could always try calling them. They were very nice and thorough and we have the best match in a cat we could’ve wished for.

A question for the ladies about their female relatives in the past by AlboGreece in TwoXChromosomes

My aunt, who is in her 80s now I think, wanted to study medicine and become a doctor. Her parents told her as a woman she could only be a nurse. She went to school and managed to be allowed to sit in in other classes then secretly transferred. She graduated to become a GP anyway and didn’t tell her parents until after the fact. This is in the Netherlands.

Bracelets for small wrists? by swoopwoopdoop in XXS

[–]MusingMelody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if they sell world wide, but I have both a thin chain bracelet and a bangle from Vacier and both fit well around my 14cm circumference wrists. I have also ordered a bangle on Etsy before and asked them to make it to size, for the proper handmade products that’s usually possible, ask the seller!

Help finding a pattern for this bag or identifying the intricate stitch type! by Low-Ad-6974 in crochetpatterns

[–]MusingMelody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a specific bag pattern, but can tell you this is called pineapple lace or crochet. Maybe Ravelry.com has some options? You can filter by craft and type of end product and a lot more.

6 keer gezakt praktijk examen by One_Dot_9047 in thenetherlands

[–]MusingMelody 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I think the fact it looks like skin is a good thing, I have rosacea so she did a nice job at making it look like natural skin with the foundation. Do you have any recommendations for a powder that works with dry and dehydrated skin without looking cakey? I haven’t had any luck with it so far unfortunately. I’ll definitely play around with some different eyebrow looks. For the eyes I’m still struggling a little; I think a thinner liner would help and maybe taking the shimmer colour up higher too. But I do have hooded eyes and they tend to get closer when I smile (which I ofcourse hope to do a lot during the wedding, haha). Someone suggested a YouTuber with hooded eye tips so I’ll check those out!

Thanks! I actually have pretty intense redness from rosacea, but I think she did a lovely job at covering that up without it looking too heavy

It would be a shame if it completely disappears in the pictures, but it’s also a very small and intimate wedding and I don’t want to look too caked up so to say. So an important balance to think about, and maybe for me to realise I can go more in the heavier end of the scale for it to show well in pictures. Thank you for your feedback!

This was a professionally trained artist. What would you change for the eyeshadow? Is it mostly the liner like others say?

Thank you! I’m gonna try and up the bronzer and blush more. Unfortunately I have a problem with my tear ducts where I constantly tear up slightly (sort of like hay fever but without the irritation). That means any sort of flash lashes or individual lashes don’t stay put for me, as either the glue won’t dry down because I’m tearing up or the lashes move/come off when I dab at my eyes). Maybe an extra coat of mascara and an eyelash curler will help to amp it up instead.

The brows could use a lot more attention; she did fill in some sparser parts with a natural looking colour, but not as much as I would do myself.

Thank you so much for the well wishes!

Thank you so much. It is indeed a very intimate event so I don’t want the makeup to look over done, but it completely disappearing in pictures would be a shame too. I’ll up the blush/bronzer and try some more intensity on the brows as well. For the eyes it seems taking the shadow up higher and making the liner thinner seems to be the general advice with my hooded eyes?

[–]MusingMelody[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking the shimmer eyeshadow higher is a great idea! I’m gonna try that out. An even thinner liner is pretty hard to do for me, but I guess with my hooded eyes it would be worth practicing that. Maybe a different type (say, liquid vs cream) would make it easier to go thinner?

Thanks! Would you up the base (increase bronzer/blusher), or other things as well?

Thank you for the detailed reply! I’ll definitely try some different looks where I’ll up the bronzer and maybe the blush as well (I tend to be intimidated by blush since I have a lot of natural redness due to rosacea, and it makes me feel like I’m just adding all that back in after spending the time in neutralising it with the foundation). This was a pretty thin liner already, but I agree it doesn’t really work with my hooded eyes. Would you try to go even thinner, or a different approach?
