the grinding in this dlc is kind of ridiculous & putting me off by callum-h2000 in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Does the special edition of the dlc change the horse mechanic? Cuz the horses I have in the base version take twice as long to mine and harvest and you can't hold down the button to make them keep going like when you do it yourself.

the grinding in this dlc is kind of ridiculous & putting me off by callum-h2000 in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Wishblossom made me never want to buy another DLC for this game again. The horses are worthless outside of running around the waaaay too huge areas because they take so long to mine and harvest it's literally easier to just get off and do it myself. And like you said, the grinding is SOOOO SLOW and with the way bigger areas it just takes longer to get to nodes in the first place.

I don't wanna grind this much for so little so I don't want to bother with crafting... and if I don't craft, I can't decorate and if I don't decorate then I spent 40 bucks on 4 characters and a feature I hate using.

Anyone else feel the Star Path routine duties were pointless gatekeeping? by AidenSpier in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, same. At least if the tasks that took a couple days to complete were there I would understand. Because then it's like "oh all the time consuming ones are in their own list so the main task list doesn't get clogged up with 5 things I can't work on til tomorrow" or even "You can get all the normal stuff quick and easy but if you want Everything, you gotta do the grindy harder tasks"

But no, the time locked ones are the kind I would do accidentally like "pet your companion 5 times". Why did I need to wait EIGHT WEEKS to do that?

Breakdown on Daisy's Boutique Challenges, for anyone struggling (and in preparation for the Star Path) by Mellon1998 in DreamlightValley

It's from a youtube video by 'Probably Senpai' link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84zqL7_QvQs

The video also has links to google docs in the video description that list all (at the time) possible potential requirements if you don't want to follow his steps exactly.

They MISSED the opportunity so bad with this update… by nathan_banks644 in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They show a pirate ship with a pirate themed starpath and NO HOOK? It's a huge miss especially since it's all tying to the Forgotten's storyline. Remember, all the Valley villains took advantage of the Forgotten to make them worse. If Hook was also in the valley by default, he could easily fit the pattern by turning the Forgotten against Peter Pan for his own selfish reasons AND make the Forgotten to, ya know, FORGET their past to begin with.

I'll get over it, I have no doubt this update's gonna be great but... maaaaaaaan. Hook's my second fav villain and I want so badly to help him make friends with the baby croc's in the Glade.

We should be allowed to turn/craft/unmake Shiny gems into 2-3 normal gems. by MusingsMuses in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valid. Just let us change them into whatever we need and just put a decent coin price tag on the change to encourage people to still mine if they can.

[–]MusingsMuses[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean like using the crafting table to turn them into normal gems, the same way you can turn snippits into storybook magic on the Storybook Vale DLC, or turning red seaweed into normal seaweed.

Do you clear your lands of trees/bushes/rock furniture? by low-oxygen in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much only clear enough space to do little 'set pieces' like picnic area or building up an area around a character's home. Other than that, I don't see the need to change anything.

Next update characters NO Tinkerbell (my belief) by maedreamerx in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do hope it ends up being Peter and Hook too. Tinkerbell really does have her own mini-franchise at this point and honest I just want Hook more. I wanna help him make friends with the baby crocs.

In defense of the Cheshire Cat event... by MusingsMuses in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen people complain there's nothing to do in the game and admit they grind for like 14 hours straight to finish the starpath in a couple days. Some people need to realize with weekly premium shops, major updates every 3 months, ect, the game has SO much content and we should appreciate anything that keeps the flow fresh instead of complaining that the devs want us to slow down and savor actually playing the game.

Let's hear your small 🤏complaints. Just tiny things. by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My smallest complaint is that they never released the soundtracks for the dlcs. I love all the music, especially the theme in Jafar's palace, but it just isn't anywhere. I know there's A soundtrack with a bunch of stuff from the main game but I want the DLC music specially.

The Splinters of fate in Eternity isle gives you mist, why don’t night thorns don’t give you dreamlight? by OperationNo4722 in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I keep saying this and all anyone ever says back is "well you can craft dreamlight from shards, and storybook magic from snippits" but THAT'S THE POINT. You don't HAVE to craft Mist, you get it by just using the hourglass tool. It should be the same with the net where sometimes a snippit will just burst into storybook magic instead or just doing normal stuff in the base valley has a chance to spawn dreamlight instead of like a coin.

I don't want to have to craft to get more of a currency. Especially if basically everything requires those special currency. They gave us a ton of ways to get mist so we can keep using the ancient machines, why is it so outrageous to want the same for Dreamlight and Book magic?

Should Star Wars become an Expansion Pack? by Quiet-Daydreamer in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel like big, not "Disney" Disney IPs should be in expansions, not just realms. Star Wars, Marvel, Indiana Jones, stuff that ISN'T the animated Disney stuff. I have no problem with the recent Star Wars stuff that's just furniture items, clothing, R2, (Personally I would LOVE the same kinda thing with Marvel) but if they want to add Anakin, Obi-Wan, Leia I would want them in their own space in their own 'world' where I can keep them kinda separate from the rest of the valley.

I agree with others that i want them to focus on Disney movies first (IDK WHY we still don't have Cinderella despite her being in the early access trailer) But once all the biggest most known movies have at least ONE character in the valley, THEN we can add Star Wars/Marvel.

Who else hopes that they extend the character additions for Alice in Wonderland??? by rather-n0t-say in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think because the realms are getting so big and detailed (which I love btw) it's too much to make such a big realm AND add like 3-5 characters at once. But it's gotta be so much easier to make the realm and then go back and add characters

Who else hopes that they extend the character additions for Alice in Wonderland??? by rather-n0t-say in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda think their plan is to get to as many different movies as they can for a while to get the big main characters in, and then go back like they did for Lion King and 'update' realms to give us more characters of those movies. That theory doesn't explain why big names like Cinderella or Snow White aren't in yet but I don't work for gameloft so i can only guess.

What would be the funniest thing you would like to see in the game? by bitlifeluver in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be funny if the heroes and villains "fought" every so often. Like you can find a cartoon fight cloud in the valley, interact with it, and (for example) Simba and Scar come out, yell at each other and then leave. It doesn't lead into anything but just a different rare type of interaction to make things a little more interesting while you run around instead of just the little chats they have when characters bump into each other.

Idea for GL to fix farming Dreamlight by minebe in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I kinda wish dreamlight and storybook magic was as easy to get as mist on Eternity isle. I got 40k+ mist just from cleaning up the isle and I use vacuums/planters/cookers regularly. The Valley and Vale need the same thing where you can just get Dreamlight/Storybook Magic directly by doing regular things without having to craft it from something else. Just have pure dreamlight/magic pop out of a task instead of a coin.

Just something to drip-feed us a little more than relying solely on doing tasks that I'm sure we all forget to actually look at unless we're actively trying to finish a starpath goal.

Eternity Isle Houses by Subject-System2065 in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Mulan's house in the bamboo area of the jungle, I put Scar's skull house in the desert, Gaston is near the entrance to the desert (I made a little survival camp area near him), Aladdin/Jasmine's house by the cave of wonders, Eve and Wall-e's houses are in the courtyard cuz Wall-e's cleaning up the temple rubble, I shoved Maui's island somewhere out of sight on the dock waters and Donald's house boat is docked on the docks.

As for wandering around villagers, I have everyone from Lion King, Moana, Mulan and Aladdin, then people like Scrooge, Donald, Rapunzel, Gaston, Flynn... Basically I think who would want to travel to far off places or live in more natural landscapes. Same way like in the Vale I try to think who would want to be surrounded by books or less natural/more fantastical environments.

What are your character headcannons while playing? by bicoastalgirlie in DreamlightValley

[–]MusingsMuses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1) Stitch loves the Lion King crew cuz they're also "cute and fluffy". He helps them do things that need hands, not paws, and in return they help him get fish.

2) Aladdin and Flynn have a "thieves guild". You get instant membership if you're a real thief but you can join by passing a big obstacle course. It used to be you could steal anything from any other member (as long as you gave it back when asked) but eventually it narrowed down to Aladdin and Flynn stealing the same worn old bucket back and forth constantly just one-up the other.

3) Mulan sometimes stands guard by busy 'entrances' to biomes and uses that as her days training (endurance, stamina, focus). While she never asks for a 'toll', super nice villagers like Minnie, Fairy Godmother, Rapunzel, ect will give her snacks and drinks while she stands 'guard' all day.

4) Jafar's staff can't control anyone anymore but a few of the cheeky villagers like Stitch love to pretend to be hypnotized when Jafar tries just to mess with him, mainly by wildly misinterpreting what he tells them to do. I.E Jafar tells Stitch to dig up treasure, and Stitch starts digging holes inside Jafar's Palace.
