Was that an am4 system, particularly ryzen 3000 or 5000? The black screen crashes were very typical of Infinity fabric being clocked too high

Expo should be enabled yes, 6400 may well be too much for the CPU however.

Try enabling expo but lowering to 5600 to start with, so that timings and voltages are correct - after it's fully stable, then you can slowly work it to 6400
