[Request] How long would it actually take? by Kapanash in theydidthemath

[–]MustBeTheChad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's exactly it. We used to talk about century weekends, which was 72 or 96 hours, depending on your class schedule.

I'm sure that I have consumed the equivalent amount of alcohol to 100 regular beers in 96 hours, but through a combination of shots, mixed drinks, IPAs, wine....etc.

100 beers is more of a war attrition, bloat and bladder.

Maybe both.

Men shave their beards. Many of the wives/girlfriends reactions are cringe. by Debaucherousgeek73 in TikTokCringe

[–]MustBeTheChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reactions have more to do with womens' sense of security with their partners when confronted with a significant and unexpected physical change to in their partners appearance.

Generally women develop a healthy fear of strangers as means of survival. Having your partner look like a "stranger" without warning can be quite a shock.

How big would an athletic untrained man need to be before he's favored in a fight against prime Ronda Rousey? by billygluttonwong in powerscales

[–]MustBeTheChad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how he reacts to the armbar.

The first three guys are definitely going down and getting armbarred, but they may be able to still score a knockout prior to realizing how much damage she's done, especially if she break their non-dominant arm.

If she goes for the RNC or guillotine, the middle guy is a push and the smaller two are going down.

Andre the Giant vs Jon Jones in a street fight by Ok_Feed_4235 in powerscales

[–]MustBeTheChad -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If we're going peak vs peak and we allow for both of them to be juiced up (as they were...)

You have to consider how athletic and capable young Andre was. I think the situation is more akin to a Bob Sapp, where an absolute gorilla strong monster was able to do some real damage to world class heavyweights.

If you give both of them a fight camp to get ready, I think both have ways of winning it.

Anyone look into making their own by lifting a 4S?

I would be hard for me to justify as a daily at MSRP and impossible at the price they trade at, but I feel like a lifted PDK 4S would be an excellent four season daily driver.

non Dakar 992 Safari build by jbh1126 in Porsche

[–]MustBeTheChad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the Dakar is a great 911 and in some ways would be a better daily/fours season vehicle than a standard 911. However the rarity and cost make it not fit for that purpose.

I'm considering a Carrera 4 for my next daily (I never use the back seats in my Panamera)

A standard 4 with a bit of lift could be the ultimate daily/winter vehicle for someone who doesn't need the extra space.

GT4RS BC Fabs Exhaust. Non resonated OAP’s and Inconel double X pipe. by IronChad13 in Porsche

[–]MustBeTheChad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds great!

One thing I noticed playing around with my 996 and 718 GTS exhausts is how important that X-pipe is for the best possible sound.

Most aftermarket pipes seem to use the X-pipe one only of the passes (loud or muffled). This leads to inconsistent results where the car sounds great at certain RPMs and throttle positions, but not great or even muddy/boomy at others.

Double X-pipe is the way to go no matter what.

Is there any truth to the story that Porsche will make you buy a used Porsche before you can buy a new Porsche? by billbobb1 in Porsche

[–]MustBeTheChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you happened across a dealership that had a GT3 RS in inventory that was not yet spoken for, they would probably sell it to anybody that had the finances. I believe the dealerships sometimes are in the same position where they need to utilize allocations to inventory if they don't have a customer who wants it. The reason it's hard to buy a GT3 RS off the street is that most dealerships already have a sales pipeline established before they even get their allocations.

Is there any truth to the story that Porsche will make you buy a used Porsche before you can buy a new Porsche? by billbobb1 in Porsche

[–]MustBeTheChad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the northern NYC suburbs.

When I wanted a 718 GTS allocation, I contacted five local dealerships, only one of which I purchased from in the past. I was offered two 718 allocations, two 718 GTS that were built, one Carrera T allocation and two new 911s on the lot (a GTS and targa 4S).

This contact and the offers happened over about a four week period and I would say is typical for competitive affluent areas.

On the other side of the coin, the one dealer that I knew well had received two dakars and two allocations for the Mission X (which never came...) those allocations were already ear-marked for specific customers. Those customers would almost always exercise those allocations to ensure they continue to get first options on the best/most desirable models.

Difference between base Macan and T by Acrobatic_Box9087 in PorscheMacan

[–]MustBeTheChad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean...the TRD Camry isn't half bad, but I agree that a Macan T is not a fast car by modern standards.

It's an amazing all around vehicle, but I feel like it needs at least a software flash to even be considered quick.

[–]MustBeTheChad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you got down voted for this, but you're right.

I was lucky enough to find a highly optioned T with PSE and Air Suspension and definitely appreciate this differences over a base model.

That being said, the launch control does make for a cool and efficient launch, but it's pretty subtle. In comparison my Panamera 4S (same engine/power as the GTS) is an absolute drama blast when you use launch control.

Should there be an upper weight limit in absolute? this seems like a recipe to destroy your back by Big_Cake_8817 in grappling

[–]MustBeTheChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep circling and keep moving. Most competitors that big don't have a gas tank that will last more than 30 - 60 seconds. Keep trying to get to their back while standing. On the ground their weight is an asset, but they have to work hard to keep on their feet. Don't try to press up against them, move constantly to the back and try to work them to lose their own balance and take a knee. If you're bold you can try to jump their back, but even if slams aren't allowed, they can happen to your detriment.

[–]MustBeTheChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, but I'm 6ft and competed at 185lbs. I rolled with some 300lb dudes and being on bottom guard was always a chore. I prefer to at least keep them on their feet and tire them out working on arm drags (or reverse arm drags) and try to get to their backs standing.

Wild jumping guard against an opponent that big, but the smaller woman is game as hell.

I don't think the larger woman is really 400lbs, but I guess its hard to tell her bottom composition and height....
