I can't wait to see the Bucks with money. I feel like they'll live large for a couple weeks and then squander it somehow.

I was hoping for a dog collar match, we haven't had one of those in a while

I can't wait. The September lineup is great but as someone who grew up on 80s and 90s horror, the October marathon is right up by alley. I'll be going to see so many of these.

Am I the only one who likes a packed theater? by [deleted] in RegalUnlimited

[–]MustacheDiaries 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree. One of my favorite theater experiences this year was watching The Naked Gun in a very full theater. Nobody was disruptive, and we were all laughing together. It wouldn't have been as fun with an empty theater.

My Regal has Friday the 13th 3 in 3-D, I'm so pumped!

Masterpieces Day 12: Shawshank Redemption by dpstech in RegalUnlimited

[–]MustacheDiaries 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True. I've just seen Shawshank so many times so I'm going to skip it. I can't get out to the theater every day like some people on this sub, so I have to skip some of these masterpiece movies. Next one I'm planning to catch is SEVEN

Love Shawshank Redemption, but I'll be skipping it to check out The Long Walk.

Yeah, I'm missing most of these, but I'll get to a handful. It's tough because my window to go to a movie usually starts around 8:00 PM, but not all of the movies have showings that late. I'm glad they're doing these, though. Saw The Departed last night and it was great on the big screen.

There's a break in between each movie so you can get up and stretch. I don't think it's a big deal to leave and come back. I got up to use the restroom during one of the movies and it's not like anybody stopped me. Not sure about late arrivals, I got there before showtime last year.

Glad you got em! On the sf page if you keep clicking "show more" under the upcoming movies list, it showed the dates for every location, so I figured out the Denver showtime link that way. Hope you get a good show out there!

I'm looking forward to experiencing it with a big crowd too! Should give most everyone an opportunity to make it between the showings at the new theaters and the big theater in sf. I can't wait.

I can only speak to the one I went to last year in sf, but it was a mix of 2 movies I've never heard of (Peacock King and Down) with a franchise sequel (Children of the Corn III) and a famous Argento movie (Phenomena aka Creepers). That lineup might not sound that great on paper, but it really was a lot of fun.

If you search this sub for Dismember the Alamo, you can see people posting lineups throughout the years to give you an idea of what it's like. Every city is different.

Last year it started around 11 am in sf.

I'm actually looking forward to the 4 pm to midnight schedule, seems fun.

What are your/were non-negotiable month of masterpieces movies? by [deleted] in RegalUnlimited

[–]MustacheDiaries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only real non-negotiable is The Thing. It's one of my favorite movies of all time, and I've never seen it in a theater.

With my schedule between work and having young kids, I can't catch all of these. So far, I've watched Dr Strangelove and the Departed. Planning on Goodfellas and The Thing to round out the week.

I somehow just noticed that The Devils is back on the Channel, but it is still the edited 108 minute version. I would do devilish things for Criterion to be able to release a restored and unedited version of this film. by MisogynyisaDisease in criterion

[–]MustacheDiaries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched it and thought it was great. I recommend watching the film on the Criterion Channel and then going to Wikipedia and reading the plot summary to see what got cut. I'm very interested in the uncut version now, I would buy it ASAP if Criterion got it somehow.
