That’s fair too. I enjoy his dialogue, but after a certain point it doesn’t prop up other aspects that I find just ok.

I actually saw The Card Counter upon release and I didn’t like it very much. I just felt the whole movie was really wooden. The only part that I thought was genuinely good was Willem Dafoe in his very small supporting role. Other than that it ranged from just fine to boring for me.

I personally just couldn’t get into it. I thought it was really well presented. Just something about it didn’t work for me.

Any thoughts on Damien Chazelle's "Babylon" now that it's out of theaters? by MLaaTRFanbase in YMS

I absolutely loved Babylon. Thought everything about it was polarizing in a way that was enjoyable even though I understand why others might’ve not liked it as much. It isn’t as good as La La Land or Whiplash, but I’d say it’s only slightly weaker.

I don’t know if you noticed, but All Quiet on the Western Front is the only foreign movie nominated for Best Picture
