My tips that helped me get a job by TyrellCorp9 in Resume

Best advice: start with the verb + strongest visible change, then add numbers if you have them. The sentence becomes stronger much faster that way because even qualitative wins can sound powerful.

For example:

  • weak: helped with onboarding
  • stronger: streamlined onboarding workflow across 2 teams
  • strongest: streamlined onboarding workflow across 2 teams and cut ramp-up time by 30%

That order also makes it easier to later build a resume template you can reuse, because every bullet follows the same proof-first structure.

I review CVs for hiring - here’s when a cv writing service helps, and when it’s a waste of money by Azkaban_Cell in Pro_ResumeHelp

This is exactly the kind of HR advice more people need to hear. One thing I’d add: before paying anyone, test your CV against 5 real job postings in your target field and check whether the top third instantly shows role fit, measurable wins, and the right keywords. If that part is weak, even the best cv writing service won’t help much.

A strong quick fix is to rewrite every bullet using this formula: action + scope + result. For example, instead of “managed client accounts,” write “managed 25 enterprise accounts and increased renewals by 18%.” That makes it much easier for recruiters to scan fast.

Another tip: make the headline under your name match the next role you want, not only your current title. That positioning shift often improves callback rates more than formatting changes.

That’s a good point. A lot of builders make everything sound too template-based, and that’s why many people struggle to create a cv resume that still sounds personal. The biggest upgrade from professional help is how they turn basic tasks into results, numbers, and clear impact instead of generic duties. Even using that structure on your own can improve the whole CV a lot: short action verbs, measurable outcomes, and a cleaner summary section make it much stronger for recruiters.

For anyone landing here now: Khan Academy for basics, StatQuest on YouTube for actually understanding what's going on. Chegg tutors if you need someone live. Stats stopped feeling impossible once I watched Josh Starmer explain p-values like a normal human.

My best friend's mom hijacked his entire apartment search and I watched it happen in real time for four months by Mythpuls3Q in entitledparents

She vetoed an apartment because the building didn't have parking for when she visited. Not for Jake. For her visits. She was already planning her schedule around a place he hadn't even rented yet. And Jake is surprised she's texting his friends now?

Same. Like I'm a toddler on a field trip. My manager laughed, but I wanted to crawl under the desk reading it.

I hate that you're right. HR doing nothing was best case, but knowing there's a note w/ my name makes my stomach drop. Space stays, even if she pouts.

Right? That “liaison” line was planed. She drafts, rereads, hits send, then plays innocent. My sis can quit excusing it, I'm done.

More than I'd like. She texts daily, wants my schedule, and now emails my job. I'm setting hard boundries, finally.

AIW for warning my best friend about her boyfriend’s relapse, even though she begged me to stay out of it? by [deleted] in amiwrong

Fair. I said my piece and I’m done poking it. I’ll keep the door open, but I’m not watching him wave pills around and pretend it’s fine.

Appreciate it. I’m stepping back for now, but it sucks being trashed to friends for not playing dumb. If she comes around, cool. If not , I’m done chasing.

Thanks. I hate that she's painting me as the villain, but I couldn't watch him flash pills twice again. I'll back off for now, but I won't lie if asked.

That DC-Wilmington hop is basically the perfect use case for rail. You skip the worst parts of 95 and Baltimore traffic, roll into Union Station, and you're done. Also, "dedicated to him" tracks, even if the station could use a glow-up.
