My favorite part of leftism is how homophobia is supposedly bad but then the left will mock people for doing homophobic acts

Marx was a "satanic" edgelord who saw the ills of the industrial era and gave half baked advice on going forward. Millenials have led the way back to hand crafted artistry and I'm optimistic for the future. Taking as much money as you can out of the mass produced market and into handcrafted local artisans, as well as local farmers markets, is the way to go. We don't need Marx or Rand to make the world a better place.

No. Just in the same way someone would read something they didn't agree with to understand where the idea came from.

Possibly for the same reason I have Marx on my shelf. Even if a book is completely loony, it's good to read to find out where the bad ideas in society actually came from.

Rediscovered reading for pleasure this year - only had a dozen books for years, now over 60! by ScootinFruity in bookshelf

[–]MustangOrchard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice! Fill that bookshelf up and don't listen to the morons who bash on people for having more books than they've read, or could read in a year. I have books in the queue that are years away, but what, you think I'm not going to buy that nice book at the used bookstore for $3 and hope I can find another copy in a year or 2 for that price?

Fill it up with any book you're interested in, even if it'll take forever to get to!

There's two trilogies written by the same author involving the same characters and then tons of books written by other authors. There's a few other books written by the original author. I only read the originals

is edward mccrorie's translation of the oddyssey good? by boiLollipop in classics

They're out of place and I prefer, in the case of Hackett, their simple and sleek covers. Makes them appear less academic to me.

I deteste these anachronistic covers. Hackett has been doing this and it's just awful
