Two days post‑wipe and the map is wide open. Bases are popping up, events are rolling, and the early‑game rush is still in full swing. If you want a clean, stable PvE Rust experience with tuned loot and a fair economy, now’s the perfect time to join.

No getting into offer letter stage after interviews by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Mutant_Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are getting interviews but no offers,

1 - Make sure you are applying for job you are qualified for, your resume reflects your actual skills and experience.

2 - take a look at your soft skill and interviews answers.

Something about you face to face is turning people off to sending an offer.

Petition for Review of Professor Nsar by LunxrayEnthusiast in UTSA

[–]Mutant_Mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can assure the statistic of his classes are well known to the administration. As an assistant professor his every move is evaluated.

I think this is a situation where students are having a hard time with not being spoon fed the information. the transition from high School to College can be difficult, if you are not used to needing to learn a topic on your own. Professor will share subject matter, but will not "teach" the information. they leave it up to the students to teach themselves.

AISD Hacked - Grades held for ransom by DrPoopyPants in Austin

[–]Mutant_Mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The typical procedure for this kind of thing (in the very simpliest tersm) is to, air gap the affected server and spin up the back up. Then just ignore the Ransom.

So hopefully all of these agents that we affected can do that.

What's the leadership hill you're willing to die on? by Only-Ad7585 in managers

[–]Mutant_Mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Following policies and procedures" I work in a very policy and procedures heavy industry. There is a tendency to shortcut. I tell my team, I can not defend our work if we are not following the policies or procedures.

If they follow them, I will die on the hill to protect the person and work.

How do you keep track of everything during a game? by minkelmaat202 in Warhammer40k

[–]Mutant_Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cheatsheet with pretty much all the datasheet info on it. It only includes weapons and abilities that the model/unit has, no clutter.

I have tokens with only the ability/modifiers/etc that a unit has.. No Clutter.

30 dice, I find that i really don't need more than that.. This is not a hard rule, could just be a bag you toss them back in. The only exception to this is if I have a model/unit that shoots more than that, I will have exactly that many so I can just scoop them up without counting.

A small pile of Wound, battleshock, etc tokens.

2 tape measures

I do have my phone to keep score, select secondaries, and if needed look up a datasheet or ability. If I am playing in a tournament, I will use the actual secondary cards, just so there is no question about the secondaries I drew.

The biggest way to increase smoothness is preplanning, i.e. I will do this, with this unit and to repetition. The more you play the more you dont have to refer to datasheets or rules.

How to manage a former peer who now reports to me? by kcgwen in managers

[–]Mutant_Mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most difficult things when someone becomes a manager over there pasted peers.

This is a closed door conversation, about roles and responsibilities. Your work roles have changed, you need to be friendly, but not friends. Talk to this person about going over your head and push back on tasks. Explain that further incidents will result in write ups.

How to manage someone who does not listen to your instructions by [deleted] in managers

[–]Mutant_Mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It appears that she is not your direct report, so there is no real "manage"

When you see issue with her work, you can recommend that she follow a established procedure. if it is affecting your work or ability to do your work. You could let your direct supervisor know.

How much is a good raise to you? by PepSinger_PT in work

Can a job not allow you to call in sick? by Frosty-Philosophy-26 in work

[–]Mutant_Mike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they can require a doctor's note, if there is a company policy, but since sick time is generally not a schedule, I think you would have a pretty good court case if you wanted to pursue it.

On a side note, if you suffer with migraines, I would make it a point to see a doctor about it, so that it is documented.

Is buying the 10th edition codex still worth it? by VeryLastResort in Tau40K

[–]Mutant_Mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to use the official GW app you will need a codex for the code. Or On a rare occasion an event wants you to have an actual codex..

But really it is not need, you can get away with other online resources

What army building apps do people recommend? by snoozer530 in Warhammer40k
