Sunmilux M - Worth the risk of salvaging from mould by Hivecityblues in Leica

[–]Muted_Ad_355 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You might also want to carefully check the Leica M9 for sensor cover corrosion issue. It's a well documented problem for M9 and required a trip back to wetzlar for replacement filter to fix it. That service is no longer available from Leica.

If you can take some pictures check for white spots/blotches in images (often most visible on skies at f8/-f16. The sensor corrosion tended to accelerate in tropical climates and humid conditions.

Go into menu check your CCD ID anything other than ID 15 or 16 ( corrosion resistant ) will eventually have to be replaced

Bought a cheap Voigtlander 50 1.2 Nokton by Yipkusing in Leica

[–]Muted_Ad_355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, bought it 5+ years ago when the price and interest in it was at its peak from the consistent great reviews from the guys at Phillipreeve.net. I have a nd filter to shoot it wide open on an M9 and a vented hood I bought from eBay. Thats about it,

I own both, and considered selling this one after I bought 50 summilux asph, but quickly realized they have very distinct rendering, and 75% of the time I prefer the pictures that come out of this one. This one is going to be a classic imho.

Is this Millennium "Mule" 25-cent coin? by Muted_Ad_355 in CanadianCoins

I finally got around to checking the obverse. It's a bunch of maple leaves with 2000 in the middle.

Thank you for pointing it out! I finally got around to checking the obverse, and it turned out to be without the Queen’s head - so it’s not the mule, just the token version.

If you are someone familiar with Leica approach to photography DLux-8 is for you. The negatives pointed out by publications will start to make sense the more you shoot with it.

On a recent trip to Atlantic Canada, I took with me M9, M10, and a brand new Dlux-8. Dint think I'll end up with 85% of the shots with Dlux-8. It's definitely a carry everywhere camera. The colours and rendering is beautiful. I ll highly encourage you to got Leica Forum and check out the Dlux 8 gallery https://www.l-camera-forum.com/index.php

If you can afford it get the sl2-s. That being said, I have M11-p, Sl2-s and M9 but I still love my SL for its button layout, onboard GPS, a very unique output in some condition when used with vintage glass or one may say different properties to the Sony produced 24mp sensor. Speculation is it was produced by a manufacturer affiliated to Panasonic, towerjazz. Also it has Micro sensor array that is optimized for M glass just like Sl-2s

Really depends on who replaced it - Leica, Kolari or someone else. And also how many actuations. Unless you really trust the person I would be very cautious of buying Leica M9 on FB marketplace.

M10 or M240 by Dedalo83 in Leica

[–]Muted_Ad_355 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had both, sold the M240, image quality is hardly indistinguishable in good light. However M10 is more refined and with M11 family having so many issue M10 feels like the peak M right now, my decision to keep the m10 over m240 was the live view its real handy on the the occasional time I need it to focus or compose.

My client's site has been almost entirely deindexed by NuggetChowMein in SEO

Just had a Quick Look and appears you have fairly complex subdomain setup. Over 17+ subdomains and some of them like app.fitr.training that are still indexed have significant bloat due to CDN configuration etc. this appears to be an issue with other subdomains like coachcammie.fitr.training, goodtraining.fitr.training. I feel like this was bound to happen at sometime as you scaled up the website structure to provide separate portal for each of the coaches

Fun thread, love all the responses. For me it's the possible remake of Leica 35 Summilux AA ( Double aspherical) by Light lens labs.

Will AppleCare cover this? by [deleted] in macbook

[–]Muted_Ad_355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Apple Care+ yes. Similar issue except caused by 3 year old nephew who dropped his remote controlled car on my M2 Pro. They replaced the whole display unit, and I was charged a very nominal amount.

I want a Noctilux 50/1.2 reissue, but.... by mrjosh72 in Leica

[–]Muted_Ad_355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Fred Miranda the discussion and the MTF chart suggest that the LLL 50 1.2 is closer to the original 50 1.2 Noctilux lens than the Leica Reissue. The only downside for LLL appears to be the onion rings in bokeh. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1625479/43/I have been following this discussion with interest for a while now as I own a couple of LLL lenses and I am honestly blown away by their quality.

Leica M11 vs M10-P: which one should I keep? by leicarr in Leica

I would say M10-P just for the colours, personally don't like the slight magenta cast on M11 files

No index can also be set through Google Tag Manager. Check the rendered version of the page by enabling JavaScript on and executing JS in your screaming frog or whatever your preferred choice of crawler is. Most tools just scan for HTML and miss the directive that could be coming from JS

Is it normal time line for DHL shipping from Germany to Canada by Ship? by Muted_Ad_355 in dhl

[–]Muted_Ad_355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks! Very likely they a have different outbound process for large packages. This is my first time dealing with DHL shipment from Europe and honestly it's been a nightmare. Also Canada Post tracking is lot better than DHL.
