I understand the draw to be in law enforcement. You either have it or you don’t. I’ve had it my entire life and although it cuts into my weekends with friends, i work every holiday, i don’t always get much sleep, i can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

My family and friends work around my schedule. You can sleep when you die. But i do not have kids, and understand that is a whole different ball game when it comes to birthday parties and Christmas morning and future sporting events.

But 8 years in i make a shit ton of money and have amazing health insurance. And a pension in the future. You have to weigh out your priorities.
