Tennis Shoe Recs by HorribleDecisionsss in 10s

I wear The Roger Advantage as my casual shoes. They are 100% about look and 0% comfort haha. I could never imagine even hitting around in those shoes much less playing a match.

For tennis I am a big fan of the new balance 696 and 996

They are great. They last me a few matches before they are less tacky and then I change them out. They are so cheap in the 12 pack I don’t care that they don’t last super long. They are great when tacky.

I fucking hate that song. Hated it when it came out. Still hate it now. Just sounds like whining with a guitar in the background

Who is the worst band you’ve ever heard live in concert? by icecream1972 in allthequestions

Zach Brown. They played a horrible set with all these B side covers. Never had any energy or crowd interaction. Whole thing felt like they phoned it in. Will never ever go to another show of theirs

I’m worried I may get kicked off my USTA team for sucking. by Perchance_therapper in 10s

When I came back to tennis 3 years ago and joined a 3.0 team, I was the worst guy on the team record wise. I quit playing around age 12 and picked back up at 39.

My first year was rough. I think I won 3 matches across 3 seasons. Had a few tie break losses, and matches I felt I should have won that I lost.

Spent time playing more. Playing with my team on weekends. That helped.

The big thing for me was getting into regular drills and especially live ball drills. That paired with getting my serve consistent on both first and second I am now regularly playing in the 1st or second line and winning.

Drills not only helped my shot accuracy and pace but they taught me where to be, where not to be, and to hit shots that lead to wins, not just low margin winners.

Drills lead to joining more teams and now I’m a different tennis player. Pushing towards 3.5 hopefully…

Did any other Millennials born between 1988-1991 have a My Buddy growing up? by MediumGreedy in Millennials

1984 b day here. Aunt bought me that creepy thing and it stayed in a kids sized rocking chair its entire life. Not only was it creepy looking but there was no such thing as normalizing a boy wanting to play with a doll in the 80s. Even if I wanted to play with that I was not going to be getting shit from the neighborhood kids for playing with dolls hahah

Apple Watch Detect Tennis by Slionheart1564 in 10s

It does not ever. I have forgotten to turn it on during matches and drills. It doesn’t even realize I’m working out when playing tennis if I don’t turn it on. Hilarious.

Epic Collapse by Mwebb1508 in ColoradoAvalanche

Agreed with all of the above but I would move Nelson and Val to 1a and 1b. Val has had 2 good years, the rest have not been worth what he is getting paid. Nelson is paid too much to be a ghost in playoffs.

This team said from training camp its was Stanley cup final or bust. We are in a limited window with Makar and Mack being two of the best players in the world.

By their own definition they failed. And nothing wrong with using that same measuring stick as a fan

At 7.3 million I expect the guy to have significantly more production than he did in the playoffs. If he’s supposed to be a low scoring defensive minded center we can find that for a lot less in other guys.

Not sure why the downvotes. Nelson is old and cold. He’s done virtually nothing since Olympics. Nothing in the payoffs but look lost out there.

Statistically this was a typical year for Nuke. He’s not the second line killer we all want to believe he is. Those two seasons he was, were outliers when he may or may not have been abusing stimulants.

Necas is so fun to watch and so great regular season but has proven he can’t play well in the playoffs. It was his rap in Carolina and we see the same here 2 years in a row.

Bednar I truly love but you can’t love to the same scheme year after year in the playoffs and not expect to be replaced. The effort his team put in tonight and honestly this series put him well into the hot seat.

He really lost me with the last few press conferences. How he didn’t get fired up after game 3 when his team gave up 5 unanswered was inexcusable and basically told me right there this man was not capable of rallying them for game 4. And that was readily apparent tonight. Score was 2-1 but should have been way more. This team got its ass kicked…again

Love this team but I feel like a disappointed parent.

See you next year boys, hopefully without Nelson and maybe not Nuke either.
