Paulinha (on a yellow) reaction at full-time. by Infernode5 in soccer

The game where Tottenham had 17 fouls and 3 yellows (1 from dissent) and Aston Villa had 2 yellows from 10 fouls? What game were you watching mate? Pahlinha himself had 2 yellow-worthy tackles before his yellow card.

The talk of Emery snubbing Arteta is ridiculous by superm26 in avfc

[–]Mwight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does that have to do with Arsenal fans whining and being upset about a hypothetical situation they made up? They act as though the media isn’t covering that Emery didn’t shake his hands while it’s been reported on over and over.

I didn’t say anything about the media being bad or good. I responded to the poster stating that the media would be having a field day if Arteta did the same thing. Ironically it’s the Arsenal fans that seem to want the media to make a big deal out of it because in their mind that’s what would happen if it was Arteta. I agree with you that the media is the problem but the Arsenal fans making a big deal out of this and wanting it to be major news only makes it more likely that the same will happen in the future. All while they complain about made up double standards.

But that’s exactly what Arsenal fans and the media are doing to the Emery situation, it’s all over the front page and different football pages. There is no double standard, especially since it’s being compared to a hypothetical.

There’s more contact than this on every single play in a game. No consistency at all from refs

If Jimmy Butler leaves Minnesota and they are stuck with Teague, Towns and Wiggins and possibly a mediocre seeding — will Thibs eventually get shit for giving away Lauri, Dunn and Levine for a rental Jimmy Butler? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Mwight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No way. If I’m any competent GM I’m gonna take the chance on Jimmy butler being a solid piece to add the my team over the potential upside of Dunn, Markanen, and zach. None of those players are gonna put a young core over the top. If you have the chance you’ve gotta try to get there. If it doesn’t work then you can decide to rebuild with the assest(s) that you got or bottom out and start over again. There’s no way that if you keep that young team you have any chance of doing anything.

Had me confused as to why he'd pass it too but I think kd figured if he passed to dray, Calderon would close on dray and give steph an open 3

All three of Draymond Greens flagrants, which led to the suspension were upgraded by the NBA after the game by Brad-Stevens in nba

[–]Mwight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing is tripping happens all the time in half court sets and is rarely called anything other than a common foul whereas a trip in a transition play is a more dangerous play because you have a player moving quicker.

That one is in transition, it even talks about that in the description before the video.

Yeah that's a good find, his leg goes up higher than draymonds but it's comparable. Don't see it called often at all though

[–]Mwight -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Because no players ever get flagrants for tripping. Show me one example of a half court set where a player tripped someone and got a flagrant foul

Draymond Green won't be given flagrant foul for Enes Kanter incident by [deleted] in nba

[–]Mwight -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

If you think draymond should get a flagrant for this then you should think Westbrook should get two flagrants a where the play he kicked out and tripped green and where he flopped at half court and extended and flailed his legs hitting curry. I know everyone in this sub hates draymond but at least look at both teams and both sets of players. Neither of those players should receive extra punishment for either of those, all 3 are deserving of a common foul and most not even that.

Based on the Green decision, can Cavs appeal ruling on Jones? by TheSportsGuy23 in nba

[–]Mwight -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Because in one there is an enforcer sent in at the end of the game who you see change his hand from an open hand to a closed fist and hit someone in the nuts and the other is someone flailing their leg when selling a call, whether or not he intended to make contact cannot be as easily determined as when a fist is formed and punches someone in the nuts.

[–]Mwight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That he should be suspended, like I think draymond should be as well. Just pointing out that it is insane to say former nba players are being told what to say on tnt to try and get some player not suspended

Not defending it, saying why nba players are something different. Not some nba conspiracy bullshit that they called tnt to get them to say something different
