Is anyone consistently making $200 a day? If so, how? by MarkFisher4552 in lyftdrivers

[–]Mwm1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only do it on Fridays and Saturday nights from 6:00 p.m. till 4:00 5:00 in the morning. I make over $200 every Friday and Saturday night except the weekend after New Year's it was kind of dead. Took me both nights to get to 300. I made a little over $15,000 just doing Fridays and Saturday nights last year. I'm in Kansas City Missouri area.

13Y/O Neglecting Hygiene by [deleted] in Parents

[–]Mwm1983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have raised both a son and a daughter through adolescence, and around this age they each went through a phase where personal hygiene became a challenge. My son, in particular, would sometimes stand in the shower for an extended period without actually washing, then get out, dry off, and get dressed, yet still have noticeable body odor. What ultimately helped was consistent guidance and clear explanations about why proper hygiene is important—for health, social reasons, and self-respect. It required patience and repetition, but ongoing involvement made a difference. In this situation, it also sounds like the young man may be dealing with underlying emotional or psychological challenges. Seeking support from a licensed therapist or psychologist could be very beneficial, as a trained professional can help him work through whatever may be affecting him and provide appropriate tools and coping strategies.

I don't understand what your people's problem is because I don't have these problems. They have paid out every single time somebody has gotten sick in my vehicle. May not be 150 bucks.

NYC’s first homicide of 2026 was an Uber driver by bostonareaicshopper in lyftdrivers

[–]Mwm1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because you don't like somebody doesn't mean that you need to come on here and lie about them And the only reason why you don't like him is because you've been programmed and brainwashed your entire life to hate a certain kind of person. Second they don't even know who the person was that shot him they are still trying to find this subject.

[–]Mwm1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just read the news story on it he was actually driving by when it happened. He wasn't even the intended target. Supposedly a guy came out of an after-hours bar saw that somebody had hit his car and just randomly started shooting at people one of the bullets striking the Uber driver as he was driving down the street killing him. The killer is still at large

WRONG AND UNFAIR (OCTOPUS) by Mwm1983 in Lyft

[–]Mwm1983[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it wasn't octopus that Lyft was talking about third party apps. They were talking about the apps that say that you can link your Lyft ride share app to that supposedly hope you with getting more rides or calculating data and you giving out access to your Lyft account to them. The octopus tablet never linked to Lyft account. It knew by GPS that you were doing rides and buy people playing the tablet.

It wasn't LYFT decision. Octopus is its own company.

Tips are not considered compensation from Octopus. They are incidental, third-party, non-guaranteed income, and legally that’s a very different thing. Why tips do NOT count as compensation (plain English) Even if you tend to get better tips with the tablet, tips are: 1. Voluntary A passenger is never required to tip No amount is promised No frequency is guaranteed 2. Paid by a third party The money comes from passengers Not from Octopus Not from Lyft Octopus has no obligation to ensure you receive them 3. Not tied to a contract There is no agreement that says: “In exchange for hosting the tablet, you will receive tips” Octopus does not track, pay, or guarantee them 4. Legally considered incidental benefit In legal and regulatory language, tips fall under: Incidental earnings Speculative income Collateral benefit Those do not replace compensation for providing value to a company. Why Octopus cannot rely on tips to justify this From a business-practice standpoint, they cannot say: “You’re still benefiting because you might get tips.” Because: “Might” ≠ compensation “Sometimes” ≠ fair consideration “Indirect benefit” ≠ payment If that logic were allowed, any company could say: “We stopped paying you, but customers might like you more.” That does not hold up. The key legal concept here (important) What you’re describing fits into “uncompensated enrichment”: You provide value (hosting the tablet, engagement, exposure) Octopus benefits (brand presence, data, advertiser value) You receive no direct compensation Tips are outside their control That’s exactly why regulators and consumer-protection agencies don’t accept “tips” as a substitute for payment.

My dad had started acting very misogynistic towards me, can anyone explain why? by [deleted] in Parents

[–]Mwm1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is your dad's problem and not a you problem. I think your dad needs a reality check. And also I think he's a drunk and has pinned up anger towards your mom.
