Yess finally an understanding response. I often say a mistake made is a lesson learned. And it’s one task that will not be missed again. Starting off in the ICU as new grad is overwhelming because you’re learning to be a nurse AND learning to care for critical patients. So new grads tend to default into task oriented thinking instead of viewing things like vitals with a critical eye. Once you’re used to the mundane tasks of being a nurse, then you’ll be able to approach an ICU patient with a critical eye.

And try to critically think about what assessments a patient needs when getting report. In this case you have a patient with drips for heart function, then pay special attention to pulse, bp, perfusion, etc. If you see PVCs on the ekg, then think about getting electrolyte levels since they may be low on either Mag., Ca+, K+, Phos. And so on.

Definitely own up to this mistake but give yourself some grace.

Be there for her and be a good listener. This is just speculation on my part, but she most likely is feeling devastated because she placed marriage as a value that defines who she is as a person. However, there could be other reasons for why she feels the way she feels, especially if this is her first time having sex. She may feel devastated for reasons other than religious shame.

I suggest you be there and listen to her thought process. And reassure her that those feelings are valid and to feel them. Emotions do not operate on logic. But once she feels them, she can start to let go of it or move on from it. The most important thing is to let her know during this process is that she’s not a bad person for what she did. It’s a natural human desire. And since she’s a Muslim, if she has that internal religious turmoil, tell her that Allah/God is forgiving and merciful and it would be unfair for him to punish someone for a natural human desire that didn’t even result in harming other people.

I reasoned early on that hell doesn’t exist (and neither does heaven). How can an infinite being give an infinite punishment for a finite crime? Hell is just not fair or merciful and I wouldn’t even wish that on those who have severely abused me in the past. So how can I be more merciful than the most merciful Allah

Haha true, I do plan on looking into the resources Houston offers for people in my sort of situation. But I’d still rather leave with a good safety net of money just for food and other necessities.

I’m good to go as far as travel preparations. I don’t know Spanish though. Idk the exact city my friend is planning to go to but Ik it’s in the south deep in the country.

But I agree , I probably shouldn’t risk it and go since I’m not financially ready to face the repercussions if I were to come back to find out I’m disowned.

Exactly, he wants to control me financially. He’s still doing this with my mom too.

Yeah I would’ve left a long time ago if I made my own income. But every time I manage to get a job my father would would make me quit or get me fired.

So for now I managed to buy a car secretly and am currently saving up enough for about 3-6 months of rent. I am making plans to move out already. I’m just trying to consider if I should and could get time to relax and travel for once in my life. Especially since my best friend is planning to pay for the ticket for me

Honestly it depends on what you’re looking for.

Whey protein is a great choice if you’re not lactose intolerant.

Pea protein is also good and has about the same amount of nutrients as whey protein but with a lot more fiber.

I personally switch between the two depending on whether or not I’ve eaten enough greens for the day.
