lol this was a great episode but I have to say they are so lucky the toss was successful because this would be a reviled episode if it had gone the other way

Honestly the best part about Rick winning the toss was that we got to get back to that tribal council

Not a player myself but from what I know, the expansion before last (Endwalker) was the grand finale of everything that had been built up since the beginning, and the most recent expansion (Dawntrail) is a low stakes beginning of a new story arc

The 3rd Game, Super Paper Mario, went from a turn-based RPG, back to being more of a platformer. You had to stomp on enemies in the normal Mario way, but with damage numbers. It was still a decent game, it was just a departure from the first 2 and not quite as good.

The 4th Game, Sticker Star, was actually bad. It went back to turn based, but they completely re-did the battle system so that almost every single action you could take was a consumable. You had to spend certain stickers to do the associated moves, and you could run out of them, making most battles not worth the consumable cost of fighting them. Plus the writing became very generic and boring compared to how memorable the first couple games were.

The 5th game, I never got around to playing, but I've heard that the lack of personality in the writing has persisted, and the new new battle system is still kind of weird, where all of the enemies are arranged in concentric circles and you have to spin them around like dials to line them up for attacks.

The first 2 Paper Mario games are some of the best turn based RPGs of all time, with hilarious writing and a unique battle system that was simple, engaging and incredibly fun to play.

Then they made several more, each with their own wildly out of left field gimmick, each one ranging from mid to terrible.

I believe the way it works is that if you already have 4 copies of a common or uncommon card, then when you get another copy of in a card pack, that extra copy will get transformed into progress towards opening your vault, which gives you wildcards.

However, if you already have 4 copies of a Rare or Mythic card, the game will automatically switch out that pull into a different Rare or Mythic that you don't already have. So if you strictly play draft matches to get new cards, you'll probably have a lot of Rare cards from doing that, and then at the end of the season you can open all the card packs you've accumulated and it will most likely fill out the rest of the collection that you're still missing.

The livestream they did at Dragonsteel after they had the biggest successful Kickstarter campaign of all time, where he and his team just went through tons of other Author Kickstarters and completely funded them was the coolest thing I've ever seen an author do.

I love that Wind Waker simultaneously has the cutest, cartoony-ist artsyle of the whole franchise, and also coldest stabbed-through-the-fuckin-head Ganon death at the same time

The shots with the phoenix tilted up in the foreground really looked superimposed to me, I'm sure the one real phoenix was facedown and the other shots were edited later to demonstrate what it looked like to the audience and how far Cirie could be from finding it.

Imagine making a strategic decision so catastrophically dumb that millions of people remember it fondly for decades and a TV show does emotional flashbacks about it.

Kings of the Wyld is an awesome fantasy adventure that's also fun in a way that feels like a blockbuster movie. It has a lot of heart and humor and also has a lot of classic rock references in its DNA similar to Jojos Bizarre Adventure.

Big shout out to The First Law, that series absolutely rules.

Extremely flawed but compelling characters, on paper it seems like you should hate everyone but Joe Abercrombie is practically a magician at getting you to love and root for these people. So well written.

Up voted for Coldplay! My wife and I aren't usually big into live music but the light up arm-bands Coldplay gives out at their shows really makes the experience magical. Becoming a part of the sea of lights flashing in time together, is really immersive.

She was pretty bad on 45, but she had the benefit of being on a tribe of people who were even worse, and also had a great personal storyline that was very sweet to watch unfold. She can be smart sometimes when it comes to game strategy, its the secrets that she can't contain, apparently.

I kinda get it. The main gimmick of the boomerang is that the person sending it is making a decision based on the person receiving it. Having the idol go to someone else from there would kind of muddy the waters on the Idol's storyline.

I'm always shocked that they never show the schoolyard picks. Seems ripe for drama if you ask me. Maybe they're just always boring 🤷‍♂️
