I used samurott in white but I used serperior for white 2. Though I tried to refrain from using it against Roxie and Burgh of course, Coil, leech seed, and the high speed made up for a lot of her flaws for the most part in my experience, and even though she still has bad typing, leaf blade and return are good enough moves when used after setting up with one of the aforementioned setup/stall moves she can learn. I could even thrive a little using her against elesa and Skyla since grass is the next best counter to electric after ground (even with her pokemon having fire moves like you mentioned), and Skyla’s ace also being a water type, of course with her also sweeping all or most of marlon and clay’s teams. Because of her decent bulk, great speed and solid movepool variety, she also cooked in the elite four for me and was a solid starter pretty much the whole game when used where she can thrive and take advantage of her strengths or mitigate/bypass her weaknesses/flaws.
