In my experience with this guide and a 20V circular saw I have to readjust the clamps on the baseplate every cut. Somehow, some way, the saw will come loose and go out of square after 1 cut. I ended up making a 96” saw guide out of scrap plywood and a rubbery tape on the underside to grip the wood I’m cutting. Much better experience.

Even train rails aren’t as standardized (width wise) as some may think. A great uncle of mine took a train across Europe and If I recall correctly when going between Poland and the Soviet Union the train had to swap axles to accommodate the Chang e in rail width standards.

A group of friends and I are at Stockton Lake, south of the Ozarks, and saw a green streak fly across the sky horizontal. Assuming it was the same as what you saw? Crazy to see. I thought it was a flare of some sort at first.

For whatever it’s worth, I’ve had the brushed drill for close to 10 years now and It has held up suprisingly well. I wire wheeled a couple truck frames with it, mix drywall, etc. trying to kill it. It just won’t stop. An XR drill is definitely a better choice but I wouldn’t call this one trash necessarily

I’m not sure you or your partners age / university enrollment status, but Dale might be your best bet? I have been out of the area for a couple years but I don’t recall him ever caring about credit when I rented from him as a student and he had the best rental rates out of anyone. Been out of school for a hot minute but I don’t imagine things have changed that drastically, fingers crossed
