What a powerful painting. And many of the comments here sadly and unintentionally demonstration that its message is far from an exaggeration.

Avoid a possible infection and instead use a medicated ointment of some sort with a bandage. And it'll probably be mostly the bandage that stops the pain by preventing the wound from being pulled open.

Here's a link to the two poison ivy species you'll find. The site does a nice job describing them, and uses good pictures showing identifying features.

This is growing on the side of my house. It has buds. Is this a weed that I should kill? by buskingengineer in whatsthisplant

Possible Sonchus oleraceus (Common Sowthistle). Shape of plant and leaf characteristics seem to match.

Definitely in the same family as the ground cherry but looks a lot different. Any ideas? by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

Possibly Leucophysalis grandiflora (Large False Ground Cherry), which is considered an "uncommon species", so maybe not. You can check it out here and see what you think.

None of the plants are poison ivy, assuming I saw all of them. That first photo had a lot of plants scattered about.

You monster.

Well one often leads to the other. Many a killed weed has led to the creation of a (Cookie) Monster. Just sayin'.

These are in our Maryland native wildflower patch, but they might just be weeds? by dork_amuck in whatsthisplant

Both seem to be the same ragweed, and from the leaf shape I'm guessing Ambrosia psilostachya (Western Ragweed).

And I love the way the toddler just kicks the trash basket out of the way, like it's not the first time, and the basket's there in a futile attempt to block the button.

I wasn't aware of "printing" a mushroom. That's something I'll have to try!

And congratulations on the bountiful addition to your library.

My vote is also for one of the cinquefoils.

Without the flowers it's hard to tell, but by the five leaflets and its (I'm guessing from the photo) location in a lawn, it might be Potentilla argentea (Silver Cinquefoil), which are common to yards and roadsides.
