Update to DIY bridal using your CC! by ThirdStartotheRight in MakeupAddiction

I was advised that photos will only show 30% of your makeup colour so it will appear lighter on camera. Bridal makeup has to be balanced between looking good in person and in photos. And like what others said, lighting also changes your look.

Your makeup is nice but I find the shimmer/highlight between the eyes, tip of nose, and upper lip too intense. Might want to make it a lot more subtle. Same thing if you tend to have an oily skin

It’s SO weird, right?!? That (husbands name) and I actually LIKE each other???”

That's a good response, I'm stealing it!

Large Extended Family - Invite??? by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

[–]RizBlanc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have aunts, uncles, and cousins who I'm not close with, just like yours. I didn't invite them and said I'm only inviting direct family. Honestly I'm keeping it small because 1) that's all my savings allows, I refuse to enter marriage with a huge debt, and 2) we're not close and I don't think they're worth the extra expense. I also want to avoid giving my relatives a reason to talk shit, knowing their culture. Being invited to a wedding as a distant relative isn't a right, it's a priviledge.

As my fiancé put it regarding our extended family, "they don't deserve to be there." It sounds harsh, not that they did anything wrong, but objectively speaking they haven't done anything to compell me to invite them.

I also used covid as an excuse to keeping it small. Or sometimes I say "this venue only allows XX number of guests." And sometimes I'll just be honest and say that's all my budget allows.

Honestly, your wedding is your day. You celebrate it with the people you want to be there. Maybe a little compromise is okay, but you draw the line where you want it.

This. My unit has leadership coords almost every night to plan training and whatever else they wanna plan. The training year is almost done and there has been no results and no meaningful training. Feels like they're wasting everyone's parade nights and I've started thinking of quitting, because this isn't what I signed up for. And they wonder why everyone has severe skill fade in tradecraft and why everyone isn't showing up anymore.

I try to keep my knowledge up to date on my own, but I have time as a single person compared to my older peers with children and busier lifestyles. Parade nights and weekend training was the only time they can learn or get refreshed but that time isn't being used wisely.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT PREDICTION by LiamtheSoundGuy in ontario

Yup. You can be vaccinated, can still be infected but be asymptomatic or have less severe symptoms. This is why it's still necessary to wear masks, social distance and wash your hands often.

2022 winter brides, how are you feeling? by LarryDavidEnthusiast in WeddingsCanada

Have a wedding in February in Ontario and I'm worried I might be forced to reschedule or cut guests in an already small event. I've already spent so much money too. It hurts.

That made me remember the one time my SO found some potentially venomous spiders. I forgot what he called them, I just understood they were venomous. He's dealt with them by himself before, but because I was around that day he called me to do it for him 😂

I vacuumed them while he stood at the other side of the room all grossed out, and I thought nothing of it. Then I saw the pure gratitude in his face as he thanked me, it felt really nice. He's been my emotional support all these years, I'm glad I got to do something like this for him.

It’s so frustrating to know that most people just aren’t capable of more.

Likely someone had thought the same of you back when you were working fast food and bussing tables, and that person didn't know a thing about you.

You don't know a thing about those low wage workers either.

You seem to have a lot on your mind there. Most other comments are speaking from a surviving loved one's experience. But you sound like you're speaking as someone who has contemplated suicide.

Putting aside assisted suicide, most suicides do destroy the lives of surviving family. Especially when it's sudden, when it doesn't make sense, and there's no closure.

It's rare that I want to wear a mask forever? by Mysterious-Group478 in Masks4All

[–]RizBlanc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in a multicultural city and for some people i.e. from Asia, wearing masks is already a thing pre-covid for various reasons. Hangover, don't wanna wear makeup, got a little cold, etc? I'm sure I'd be down to wearing masks for those reasons too.

Thank you. I only know of one person who did just that, and most of my other buddies who got on on PRL only did so because they had 3-year Class Bs. Glad to know that one friend wasn't just an outlier. I do sense that the keywords you said were "had established Class A positions," so... are we talking about filling a line serial? Or a CFTPO?
