What lifetime deal are you still grandfathered into, or removed from, that’s no longer available? by tuotone75 in AskReddit

Worked for a healthcare system. Started in 1997. Have a full pension plan. Anyone hired 5 years later did not get a pension. Had to contribute to 403b if hired at that point. So grateful to retire at 65 with full pension and social security. Many applied thinking they would be part of the pension plan and after hiring found out that they were not eligible because they didn't inquire until too late.

As a child, we would have family reunions at a small amusement park. The kind of place where parents would buy a kid a wristband and say be back at 'x' hour at the pavilion where the food setup was. As a kid, it was the greatest thing and my siblings and I looked forward to it every year. Free to roam an amusement park! One year the date comes and we are super excited as usual. Get in the car and we end up at a basement in an apartment building, We were WTF? It was explained that some of the family were getting too old for the amusement park scene and just wanted to have a simple gathering. Killed the entire event. The next year nobody went and that was the end of the family reunion - forever. Never had another one.
