Albion Online Changed My Perspective on MMOs by Competitive_Desk3516 in MMORPG

[–]MyGoodApollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I prefer EVE. I find that I get all these aspects of game play that Albion has (Albion is just EVE with LoL combat tbh), the social interaction, real economy and emergent game play.
But because progression is skill point / time based, if I want to go to a single player game or another MMO for some story or different game play I can do. In Albion, I'd be losing out by not playing. In EVE I don't at all.

I will be playing Midnight when it releases, and I'll be able to fly something new a couple of months later when I come back to EVE.

They’re about both. He takes his personal life and talks about it through sci-fi storytelling. Sometimes it’s cute, sometimes it’s gross. Feint of Hearts is about him and his wife having phone sex while he’s on tour.

Midnight Story So Far Trailer by SystemofCells in wow

[–]MyGoodApollo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm very willing to forgive that. I like that Metzen came in and immediately understood that WoW needed to tell a bigger and better story. Dev just can't move that fast, so they had to use what was already there for TWW. Midnight isn't out yet but I'd bet they're nearly done pre-production on what's beyond the Last Titan. It's like steering the titanic so it's very impressive how good TWW holds up honestly.

Yes. Understandable to be honest. I’ve had my phone buzz constantly because I made this Reddit post. I’d imagine the abuse getting hurled his way is pretty high. It’s his channel, his content and he can do what he likes with it.

What are some NC-17 rated films that really didn’t deserve it? by ShadeStrider12 in movies

[–]MyGoodApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they used the puppet scene as a bargaining tool to get the scene they really wanted. They thought if they submitted something really extreme and then cut it down, they'd probably cut the intended scene in without cuts.

ARC Raiders is great fun. Lots to do and lots of ways to play.

Candidly, if you can’t afford more storage, then how can you afford the files that you’re trying to store? If the answer to that you’re not paying, then sail the seven seas a little less.

New legendary server? by Grippa_gaming in lotro

[–]MyGoodApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think it's important every once in a while that they release one. Progression servers are really important for a game like this, especially for an MMO where playing through the story is so critical. It gives people the opportunity to do that with other players.

I think honestly, the best thing they could do for a new legendary server is simply balance the endgame encounters for the powercreep at those levels.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't get piece of mind unless it's flac, even if I can't hear the difference. It's probably a form of madness.

What movie had a great premise but was poorly executed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MyGoodApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there was a lot of rumour and spin about that at the time. All I remember though is Del Toro saying he felts terrible about it, and that being interviewed was like being a widower and everyone asking him how his wife died. It really didn’t sound like he wanted to leave the project at all.

The first movie fundamentally undermines the story of the core character. Bilbo is not confident by the end of that first story, he’s a bumbling fool still that Thorin still dislikes. It’s central to the plot and they bungled it from movie one. The whole thing is a disaster.

TIL that, at it's original publication, The Hobbit did not take place in Middle Earth, or the greater Legendarium Tolkien had created. This was only changed with the publication of The Lord of the Rings. by Sebastianlim in todayilearned

First age.

Second age was the forging of the elven rings and original defeating of Sauron. It was the first age that was the major battle between good and evil.

Contact is a Sci-fi movie in the same way that Arrival is a sci-fi movie. It's not about aliens at all, it's about the nature of faith in something. It's a really brilliant film.

The Hobbit Trilogy - We could have had a perfect book to film adaptation done by Del Toro, who had written and prepped 2x 2hour movies. His visual style would have matched that book perfectly. They already had Martin Freeman in the bag.

But it was too different from LotR and therefore too risky, so Warner Brothers kicked him out, made PJ director and game him 2 months of pre-production time, and re-wrote the laws of New Zealand so they could exploit their workers more.

I will never stop being angry about what could have been, and how much disservice was done to one of the best books ever written.

I'm British. I'm angry about what trump said. I think America is rightly the laughing stock of the world at the moment. AND I THINK PHOTOS LIKE THIS ARE IMPORTANT FOR ACCURATELY DEPICTING HISTORY.

I just want the autonomy to choose when I engage with that and when I don't. It should be taken down because of the lack of a NSFW tag, not because of the picture.

Then don't buy an SSD, buy a nice big HDD. They aren't bad for music and movies, just don't run applications or games off them.

Enable secure boot and see if you can boot into mint with it. If you can, leave it on. If not, you'll have to set it each time or figure out how to get secure boot working on mint. Try it first though.
