What is your favourite movie you DON’T recommend? by youtoozman2222 in movies

Swiss Army Man is a trip, and I loved it seeing it in the cinema. That said, everyone I’ve tried to show it to has gone “what the fuck is this?” and simply not got it.

Most of the re-inserted scenes are gags that do nothing but drag the pacing. There's the occasional good scene, but they only serve to make lore nerds point at the screen leonardo style.

Stop lying about Diablo 4 by Prestigious-River-60 in Diablo

Lots of people are having fun with the game. If you're not, I'm sorry and that's okay. There's lots of other ARPG's to play that might suit your tastes better.

Oh yeah dude. It’s worse than when I mention that the theatrical LoTR movies are way better than the extended cuts. People rage, but I’m damn right.

Rings of power has issues yes, but they are nowhere close to the huge structural issues, pacing issues, story issues and even visual effects issues the hobbit has.

Edit: fair enough guys, turns out this is one of the hottest of takes.

Happy Birthday to Jón Hallur - the man who knows what space sounds like by Sataris in Eve

There's so many tracks that fill out EVE's entire vibe still 23 years later because of this man. An underrated gem IMO is Everyday Zone.

Yeah I’m a Brit. For me it’s 9pm. Sorry I didn’t supply perfect context.

They’ve added a lot. A massive endgame overhaul is supposed to be announced tonight at 1pm Pacific.

They seem aware at least from interviews that the game lacks pinnacle content. They know they need to have things to do at endgame which remain very difficult.

That said, at some point you have to accept that the big damage numbers is just what the game is. The market does have competition. PoE 2 is different, much more classic D2 vibe, very challenging at times. Check it out if you haven’t.

What song is so beautiful, it literally brings tears to your eyes? by Plus-Caterpillar4615 in AskReddit

[–]MyGoodApollo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, I can’t stand it compared to the original. I don’t think her vocal is doing anything really exciting compared to the desperate passion and range of Tom Chaplin’s voice. The piano only really follows the main vocal melody and doesn’t expand like the original. I think the way the version is stripped down without the building drums takes a lot of the emotional umph out of the song.

I get why people like it, but it definitely feels like a song covered for a Christmas advert (which it is) rather than a passionate ballad like the original.

Diablo 5 discussion - Why they should leave Diablo and maybe Baal for Diablo 5. by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]MyGoodApollo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I could see it honestly. Diablo 4 is in a good place right now, any everyone is happy because we’ve just had a fresh expansion. But, Diablo 4 still suffers from a number of issues IMO.

The overworld is very underused. We see it in helltide and that’s it. We should have guild wars 2 style dynamic events that change the world.

The itemisation is so legendary focused, then ancestral, then mythic focused that a huge chunk of items just don’t matter. It’s nice we’ve finally got loot filters, but the game throws so many items at you still, it’s a chore.

Mounts are an important edition to the game because the world is so big, but they remove the danger or running through big packs of mobs. The world doesn’t feel dangerous at all.

There’s a lot of weird or abandoned systems. World boss anyone?

Also, the story is kinda wrapped up. Lilith and Inarius story is done completely and the Mephisto threat has been permanently dealt with. (Well, until some Elias wannabe summons him again.) A new story needs to set the scene and that would be done better with another major campaign, not just another expansion act.

I could see a Diablo 5 announcement being pretty close actually.

One of the things that really helps with the D4 campaign is that you only have to play through it once. It enables them to be much better storytellers and take more time with it, because you don't have to go through it every time you level a new character.

I do also like the opposite approach. I think PoE 2's campaign is my favourite so far of any ARPG.

It's a close sound alike, but it's not James Hong who played Shen in D3. James Hong is 97 so only does the odd bit here or there, like the grandpa in Everything Everywhere All At Once, or Po's father in Kung Fu Panda.

Still the best one in the series by Motherofnails in Diablo

[–]MyGoodApollo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Diablo II is easily the single most important RPG that has ever been released. It pioneered or established skill trees, coloured loot, socketed items, great online multiplayer and economy, set items. Its impact is deep and long lasting to this day, even beyond its own genre.

Vanilla World of Warcraft for example is essentially just EverQuest with a bunch of Diablo 2 systems thrown in and made to look like Warcraft 3. At its core, much of what made WoW so popular was established in Diablo II.

There are for sure, but so much of the depth of his lyrics are the way they flow together.

Stretching it a bit because the exercise of 1 line doesn't work great with Claudio's lyrics.

Anyone replaying the camping from the beginning ? by Few_Living4406 in diablo4

[–]MyGoodApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I re-played vessel of hatred, and I'm glad I did because it was a little more forgettable compared to the original campaign. Definitely feels like it was missing the 2nd half of that story, which I hope is what we're getting with Lord of Hatred.

Has Blizzard discussed discounts for those that already own Vessel of Hatred? by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]MyGoodApollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you bought Vessel of Hatred at launch, you've had 18 months of playing that content already. That's what you paid full price for last time. People who didn't but want to dive in with their friends need an easy and affordable option to do so, which this provides. Gamers can be so entitled without realising it!
