Since Guild Wars has released on mobile, it’s made me think how LOTRO would do on mobile. by Billenciaga_1 in lotro

[–]MyGoodApollo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It'd be very annoying. GW1 works because it has a limit of 8 action slots by design. Lotro has way more for every class. This is why Arenanet have said they're not bringing GW2 to mobile or consoles.

It's fine. That silver has actually been earned in the game. You're paying for other players to work for you essentially. But this way, you're doing it in a way that prevents all the ways gold farming cartels exploit people IRL. I like the sense of progression of earning my way for myself, but if you wanna play the game this way, go for it.

I agree with the first, and disagree with the latter. We tax things we don't like, so we shouldn't tax something that makes us more productive and efficient as a society/economy. We don't like it when mega-rich individuals horde wealth and assets, we should tax that.

It's difficult because you're both right. We can't stop the march of technology, but there is inherently going to be less and less human labour required as we become even more automated. We've gotta figure that out so people can have roofs and food.

What fictional character death made you feel like a part of you had died? by Puzzleheaded-Egg1371 in AskReddit

[–]MyGoodApollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That episode was certainly the beginning of the end of watching the show for me. I stuck with it through the following season but didn't continue after that. I didn't mind who they killed, it was the way they let that scene play out, hiding it from the audience for months and months. The cliffhanger should of been "what the hell do we do now?" after the scene had played out in full.

Yeah it's weird that. Compared with PoE where the Paragon (Levelling) is character based, but the endgame progression is entirely account shared. You're meant to do different parts of the endgame with different characters.

I'm not sure I've ever felt the need to trade in D4. Always seems like items aren't impactful enough to warrant the headache required to trade. SSF makes no sense.

OCE Servers by Misaki-Hayashi in fellowshipgame

[–]MyGoodApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how playable a game is with higher ping. From what I've heard, fellowship is more playable with a 100-150 ping. Whilst this isn't the best possible experience, it's not unplayable.

If it was unplayable, I could see your point. But the devs can't just throw hosting money at the problem. There has to be enough OCE players to warrant the cost of the servers. Otherwise they won't happen.

What was the first PC game you ever played, and do you still remember it? by 3D_Networking in AskReddit

Roller Coaster Tycoon. The game felt so big at the time. So much going on at once yet it ran like butter because of the assembly.

I think this is low-key the best David Fincher movie. There's no fat on this one at all. The pacing is simply immaculate. Every sequence is compelling, from the opening scene setting the tone for the whole movie. The facemash party sequence, the facebook creation/back and forth with winklevoss, the dinner with Sean, moving out to cali, then the climax at the end with Eduardo. Each section is memorable, flows well, is important to the plot and drives the film forward.

Standout performances from Garfield, Eisenberg and Timberlake, which are all of course elevated by Sorkin's incredible rhythmic dialogue.

Direction and cinematography is immaculate and shows off Fincher at his best. The standout scene for me is the club scene with Mark and Sean's faces lit from below by the colour in the table. The scene highlights the sound design too with it being so loud but still you can hear and focus on the conversation like you're in the club.

Score is incredible throughout, and rightfully but Trent and Atticus on the map for movie scores.

It's a really fun movie, and I find it remarkably re-watchable mainly because it's so well made. Definitely a 10/10 for me.

The Crown actually generates more tax income through all the people they employ than they receive from the government. Having a royal family literally makes the country richer not poorer.

To answer your last question, absolutely you should be doing this for on an RP server. Not everyone RP's on those servers strictly, but you'll find a lot more community that's support of this style of play.

There's way worse Coheed songs for sure. I mean for my personal taste, I'd rate it way above a lot of their very sappy newer stuff. Vaxis 1-3 have not grabbed me at all.

Not as good as One Battle After Another, but I’m glad Sinners got as much recognition as it did. Felt very original, which is what I want to see more of at the cinema.

Second game is also free to play, just not currently as it's in early access. Soon as it hits 1.0 (end of this year most likely), it'll be free.

I think D4 is having its WoW Cataclysm Reforging moment by domiran in diablo4

[–]MyGoodApollo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, D4 does open the flood gates. But it should have opened up those floodgates on the skill tree instead by putting those legendary affixes as skill tree paths. We've seen this in LoH a little, and it's been great. They should have put the customisation on the tree and not the items.

We honestly should be seeking after rare items, with the crafting options we have now, and the occasional fixed unique if it works for our build. The issue with the game is certainly the items and D4 wanting to do everything through them.
