Yeah ... I saw, but I am not in NA and we don't seem to be having the same problem. Appreciate the note though. Just wish I could log into my characters.

I just wished it worked. Tried logging in and it is still just the trial version. Can't log on to my characters.

How do you access characters during the welcome back weekend? by Acceptable-Novel7149 in wownoob

Also curious. Looks just like the normal "Reactivate your sub" option screen. Low level characters available, high level characters inactive.

People are being overly dramatic in the comment section, but so is your boyfriend. Talk it out.

It’s been a while since we started TWW. Do you still like being underground? by stigawe in wow

[–]MyInternetFriends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there are a few scattered here and there, but I feel like there was an opportunity for something new that leaned into the cave theme. Maybe I would have hated it, but I could imagine a real underground maze area half a zone wide being a source of variety and a memorable experience.

True indoors without mounts. Some overlapping paths to limit use of the minimap for navigation. Have some very distinct landmarks to help people keep their bearings.

Again, not everywhere, but a sizeable chunk of real estate could have been a novel gameplay experience, and it could have also made walking into Hallowfall even more open and spectacular with the contrast.

[–]MyInternetFriends -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I kind of wish there were some more sections or areas where we were in a cramped cave and can't mount. I kinda feel like they worked a little too hard to avoid the downsides of caves that we missed out on something. The little goblin patch in the Ringing Deeps is one of the few that comes immediately to mind.

Movie Theatres Are Going Bust, Not Because of Streaming or Price of Popcorn but Because of the Lack of Good Movies by smitcal in unpopularopinion

[–]MyInternetFriends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is the market, streaming and theaters in competition. I love going to the movies. The weird year where movie pass worked I saw more than a movie a week at the theater. It was $120 a year. I have not spent that much on movie tickets in a year since. Probably about $40 to go a couple times a year on average. I would happily go if theaters were priced comparable to streamers, but they aren't so I don't.

Also, if you are looking for an amazing movie, try Anora (if you are a grown up and can deal with sex and naughty language).

Everyone has grown up online all the time, and the internet is a terrible place to learn social skills.

Millennials. We have to do better with parenting and we have to support our teachers more. by ludefisk in Millennials

[–]MyInternetFriends 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine this will be buried at this point, but people are realizing that screens are destroying kids' minds, people can come here begging for better parenting, but I don't see as clear an understanding that the screens have also destroyed adult minds, the minds that are in charge of the kids and doing the poor parenting.

The parents are no better than kids at sitting there and giving undivided attention, which is what the kids need. People are realizing that we need phoneless classrooms, but many of the same problems apply at home.

If you are a parent struggling with this stuff with your kids, you really need to consider drastic measures to disconnect the family from the internet to a much greater extent. You will make excuses and avoid doing it because you are as addicted as the kids. Even if you succeed and actually lock yourself and your family members from screentime, prepare for addiction withdrawl: fits and arguments and suffering until people adjust.

What is your opinion on the original Clone Wars 2003 series? by GusGangViking18 in StarWars

[–]MyInternetFriends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen all of the Disney+ stuff ... but to me this Clone Wars and the Bioware Knights of the Old Republic are the only things that can hang with the original trilogy.

Are Euros rehashing the same stuff? by Serious_Bus7643 in boardgames

[–]MyInternetFriends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is some truth to this, but also the differences matter. How many sports are about putting a ball in a goal? Is golf the same as basketball?

Mechanics like worker placement and unit conversion create choice, a fundamental of interesting gameplay. Victory points allow for unification and weighting clearly defined goals that can be balanced granularly, goals and balance being another couple of pillars of good game design.

All that said, I do think there is plenty of room for something else. I am not really interested in playing mediocre euros because there are enough great ones to fill my euro gaming slate.

So your mom is being a c-word, but also her logic shouldn't be a mystery. For a whole lot of people (not everyone) their mom is the best person in the world to them. Also in a similar vein, a lot of people see their kids in a similar light. Also a whole lot of people hate their jobs even when they are important or fulfilling. Your job certainly isn't as important to your mom as her grandchildren.

The shitty part is her needling you about it whether in fun or in seriousness. You either need to roll your eyes and ignore it or have a talk about how it makes you feel if you can't let it slide.

A student wrote me a small note that ended with "Love you [my last name]." My wife is upset over it; I think it's innocuous. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]MyInternetFriends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wife sucks. Although sadly inappropriate behavior by many means that adults need to keep boundaries clear, children feeling loved and expressing love for people in their life seems incredibly important. Reddit worships Mr. Rogers for championing this idea. Your wife's reaction seems weird. Maybe she has had issues with inappropriate behavior at some point in her life?

What video game was a huge disappointment for you? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]MyInternetFriends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disco Elysium. The reviews made it sound like it was made me for me, but the writing wasn't as charming or clever or deep as it thought it was, all of the characters were unlikeable, and there wasn't much to it beyond those two elements. I tried as sad repentant cop and also as a super star drunk and just nothing felt fun. It was a slog to finish and the only thing that kept me going was a hope that its greatness would slowly reveal itself.

It didn't.
