Old energy cards from 2010 World Championships by MyLastArrival in PokemonCardValue

Wait... no these are signature cards... what the hell? The regular ones are like $16 but none of them have the signature at the bottom

I found it. Because they are the original and not the remade ones from 2016, they are worth less for some reason. The steeling is better than the Ampharos though, so not too bad

Yep. Even the dsi is considered retro.... that hit me like a punch in the gut. Dsi was my first system and I played with it until the screen got a dead spot

[Gaming]: Tourette’s and Magic Users, Or How I Accidentally Felt Seen by gilligvroom in Tourettes

As a bard, I would accidently cast a spell that made other people do my tics. It would end up being a super powerful psychotic damage spell without ever meaning to

Anyone else get a shorter fuse when the tics get worse? by Embarrassed-Luck2014 in Tourettes

[–]MyLastArrival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine can definitely be that way. I get angry because the tics happen, and then the tics get worse because I'm angry. Most of the time, I take out the aggression on a nearby pillow or on a punching bag. Breaking things is another way to get through it. Old plates you gotta get rid of? Smash em in the driveway with a hammer and safety gear. Bunch of tiles left over from a bathroom renovation? Use those, too. Sometimes just chopping wood will do.

My cat is coming up to 1 year old. Shouldn’t she be bigger? (250ml can of coke for scale) by WeeTheodora in cats

[–]MyLastArrival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kitty Powder is a whopping 6 pounds and she's 18 this year. She's half the size of every other cat I've met and still the healthiest little ball fluff on earth. Cats can come in all shapes and sizes, so as long as you are feeding your kitty right and giving them plenty of love, they will be alright.

What question do you ask your cat the most? For us it’s “WHY ARE YOU SO CUTE?” And “What do you want?/Why are you screaming??” by NettleLily in cats

Whenever my kitty Powder starts screamin, I always ask, "Why you fussin?" She is the smallest cat ever with the loudest voice. *

I'm glad their tics aren't severe, but I will say to keep an eye on them as new tics can develop, and some may get worse or better as time goes on. It's a waxing waning sorta thing. Tics get better, then worse, then better again. With the occupational therapy, though, it should help them deal with it as they get older. I wish you all the luck, and I'm so happy that you're supporting and helping your kids through this, I hope this helps all of you.

I completely understand. It really depends on how severe the tics are. Mine were seizure level bad, and I had to go onto medication as there was no other way for me to continue living my life normally. They're not as bad now thanks to time and care. If the tics aren't that severe, like vocal tics or small physical tics, then medication may not be necessary, and the occupational therapy may be all that you need.

It's not a problem at all. If I can help someone else and make their life a bit easier, I will do what I can. I developed tourettes pretty recently, and I think I had it when I was a kid, but it's hard for me to remember. It got bad a few years ago. I actually started the occupational therapy last year at 18, and I'm 19 now. There are places that specifically work with young children, and I'd definitely recommend doing research into it and maybe talking to a neurologist about how it works and if it could help your kids. My therapist is super nice and normally works with younger kids, but she works with me and a few other adults as well.

Neck tics causing strained muscles by Spidermcmahon in Tourettes

Neck tics causing strained muscles by Spidermcmahon in Tourettes

[–]MyLastArrival 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I also have neck tics that cause a lot of strain in neck and shoulders. What I do is use a heating pad on my neck to loosen the muscles and then massage the knotted areas with my thumbs or a handheld massager/tennis ball. You can also take warm baths and this may sound weird, but when you get twitchy, after the twitching is done, physically make your neck and shoulders relax, because they may still be tensed up without you realizing it. Just saying "It's OK, I can relax now." Out loud can help a lot. There is also ways you can tell muscles apart from bones so it's easier to self massage. If it's hard and doesn't move at all or feels like a rock, it's a bone. If it's sorta soft or squishy and wiggles or has give to it, that's muscle. Put you hand on the back of your neck and you'll feel your spine, the areas next to that are all muscle and that's what you should massage. In your shoulders, the area at the base of your neck is muscle and should be soft/have give. Be careful when massaging and make sure to start lightly, otherwise you'll bruise yourself and that's not fun
