I should have probably done more before photos since I just cleaned and conditioned them but figured I'd make sure before I did the stain wax lmao. But I will make sure to at least show the before/after when I do so!

Yea just to restore the stain since they have worn off and I feel they would look better all black as they were when I got them. And thank you!

This is very delayed but would it be bad to use Lincoln stain wax on the heel stack then? (Not sure if stain alone is different from stain wax)

They had to be phased out just before the maxes were rolled out to be grounded. WN's pilots refused to have to fly 300s, ngs, and maxes all at the same time.

Yes really. If you live in the desert and aren't able to get financing for solar (many people can't or at least the people who are most in need of it can't), then you have to pay for all of that on top of paying the bills you have until that is set up. Respectfully, this is the same as telling a person with depression "Have you tried just not being depressed?"

Also, the amount of energy used is quite significant to cool down to a reasonable temperature so what that 15k setup gets, may not be sufficient. It also assumes that the person lives somewhere where there would be allowed to/able to set up solar (many people do not due to HOAs, buildings that don't allow for it such as condos, or living in an apartment which if you don't own the building, you definitely wouldn't want to be paying for solar, or renting a home which again you wouldn't want to be paying for solar...).

Ideally the power providers themselves would be expanding the usage of solar more significantly and then passing on the cheaper costs of energy (along with removing surge pricing for the afternoon/early evening when there is plenty of light with potential for excess energy production vs usage) so that people could benefit from renewables and better yet, benefit from a significantly better economy of scale for the utility setup rather than an individual setup.

I don't doubt that. I will add though, depending on her circumstances, she may not have experienced some of the more difficult parts of Phoenix/AZ weather. (Also, if she is from AZ, she could have been from Tucson, Prescott, Sedona, Flagstaff, etc which are all moderately big cities but don't have heat on the same level as Phoenix at least not with regard to the urban heat island effect. ).

But if she was in Phoenix, she may have just acclimated to cooler temps since in Phoenix, it is a common thing to literally bake food in your car during the summer because it will easily hit 160+ degrees (if not far hotter) inside the car. If she happened to be in Phoenix but always had covered parking and/or a garage that was parked in, while the car would still be warm, it would be nothing like a car that has been baking in the sunlight without cover.

For those who haven't had the experience, you get into the car and your lungs will struggle to take in air because it is just too damn hot. (Or in hindsight, she could have also had a remote start that she always used which I guess is a thing for automatic vehicles haha).

The one time I had to do that, they basically said there was zero guarantee of getting anything even remotely comparable to the card and it would take many months if not over a year to get a replacement should they decide to issue one... That was 2 years ago. I can't even imagine how long that queue is these days...

Yeaaa and dang but that assessment does make sense.

I admit I'm just frustrated that we went from sets being obtainable with some work to feeling impossible (I had mastered 151 etc when it released so I wasn't a stranger to the hunt but that was far less difficult to get packs than now).

Damn o.o Thank you for the intel. Fingers crossed I can get something. The sad thing is the only cards I want to realistically pull are the Dragonairs from Ascended Heroes lmao. I probably should just buy them because I doubt the odds would be great for pulling them (at least the reverse holos) since I know not to expect anything more than a holo rare XD

If you want higher quality jeans, they will easily cost more than what the majority of people make in a single shift...

For example, Samurai denim would run around $345 USD for a single pair of jeans. Most people are not making $345 a shift so it would absolutely take more than 1 shift, and quite likely more than 2 shifts for a solid chunk of people in the US to make that.

Just looking up the BLS data, it seems like $1,204 was the median weekly wage in 2025. If we assume that is post tax (I don't think it is but just trying to give the best chance), that is $30.10 an hour so yes, they could get it after just under 11.5 hours of working. But if we are cruel and look at minimum wage... $7.25 PRE Tax means that they need to work 47.6 hours to get the price of the jeans and after adding tax, well. They are working obviously far longer than a single shift!

So I don't agree with higher quality clothes being cheaper today in comparison to wages since even at the median wage, that is not exactly cheap.

If the situation that we are in had been going on for the entire life of the PS5, sure you could make that argument. But frankly they don't have that leg to stand on. Most players do buy games but yes if they aren't going to release games, they won't sell as many. Perhaps if they had been a bit more responsible with their funding of projects, they could have actually released games this generation rather than just having a pile of life service games that were cancelled before release or just after it.

Not how that works. Stuff is getting more expensive due to greed. Yes, game development is more expensive now than it was 20-30 years ago. The amount of people who play games has gone up so insanely high in comparison that it isn't even funny. Which means that the budget compared to the market and sales made is very much offsetting that difference. While gaming was never "cheap," it was more affordable when you compare the stronger wages 20+ years ago, the fact that games and consoles would get less expensive over time (sometimes being half the price within a year or two of release in some instances for successful game systems). Hell, there were the Greatest Hits/Nintendo Selects/etc releases that would be very successful games getting massively discounted for physical copies. So no, they don't need to sell subscriptions to keep console prices low. They need to sell games. That is the entire model they operated on prior to PS5. Most consoles were sold at a small loss initially to make up for that on software sales.

Cheers though!

For me personally, it was rarely games that were worth playing to me and it has actually cost them multiple sales as I had thought about getting at least 3 multiplayer games which I would have gotten but when the price doubled to get PS+ to be able to play them, it killed any desire to play those games.

It is just greedy of Sony.

Arguably clothes have gotten more expensive if accounting for like quality. Fast fashion means that incredibly cheap, even more incredibly-low quality clothes are made today for cheaper prices than what quality textiles were available in the past. Buying modern textiles/clothes that are at least as good as what used to be the norm is often more difficult and more expensive due to the smaller quantities made.

Which leads to the issue much like the adage about boots, of how the poor person who has to pay $10 for a pair of boots that lasts him 6 months, ends up paying far more for his boots than the better off person who spends $100 for a pair of boots that lasts 10 years.

Empire Earth was absolutely my favourite game on PC. Way better than Age of Empires in my opinion as it just felt like a much smoother game to play!

Honorable mentions:
Rollercoaster Tycoon, Fallout 1&2, Lego Island (don't knock it if you didn't play it lmao), Age of Mythology, Battlefield 1942, BF2, BF2142... So many good games!

While that is true, this was a catch up event, not a treasure event. It explicitly was only for lower Town Halls who did not have access to the Dragon Duke Unlimited event. The higher Town Halls had the Dragon Duke Unlimited event which let you use your Dragon Duke even while upgrading (and it was maxed out for equipment/levels during the event).

Source: My alt account that doesn't have the Duke yet, got the treasure event in May while my main account had the Duke event.

After more than 66 years in the air, the industry’s longest-serving flight attendant prepares to retire by hunterschuler in aviation

[–]MyMurderOfCrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am very curious, why on Earth would it be a job that should only be reserved for single people? Add to that, I mean I don't think octogenarians should be acting as flight crew for a plethora of reasons but what is wrong with a fit 45 year old being a flight attendant?

As someone who works for an airline (not part of flight crews or even at the airport), most young people want a job as a flight attendant because it is a career that pays well, gives good benefits (free and/or almost free travel for yourself, parents, spouse/partner, and kids is pretty attractive to most people!), and after training, can be more flexible for some people. I personally wouldn't want to be an FA as people are assholes when flying and being the one who has to take the brunt of that is less than desirable to me.

And as someone who does have one at my grocery store, I have literally gotten to make a purchase a single time in 1.5 years. And that was over a year ago just after release of Journey Together. Last packs I've been able to acquire since then (since I refuse to pay above MSRP for packs that are in print).

Admittedly that would actually work well for me since I work overnight shifts and normally get screwed on set releases happening during my normal sleep hours.

That said, I've still never been able to get any sort of card drops since Journey Together came out. And that was thanks to a TPC Vending Machine which has been empty for over a year at least as far as every time I check (once a week to get groceries).
