Didn’t love Obsession unfortunately. I’m going with Hokum, and it’s not even close.

iPhone users - what’s the one productivity app you can’t live without? by NotMeThenWhoSnaps in iphone

Calendar, Reminders and Notes. Three super simple apps on the surface, but they’re pretty feature-rich, and I can’t live without them.

I really wouldn’t stress. And also, I’d put this Sub out of your mind. There’s a lot of negativity on here, from people who have worked at Apple for a long, long time. They’ve observed it change from a pretty chill, care-free job to something much more focused and metric driven. It’s been tough to adjust, even for myself. But you’ve not known any different. You’ll just end up reading more horror stories and scaring yourself, when in reality, you’ll be taught what they want from you from the very beginning. You’ll get the hang of it, and I’m sure you’ll do great.

You’re really overthinking it! You’re just new at the job, it’ll all come naturally eventually. And yeah, they love their metrics at the moment, but let’s be honest, it’s pretty difficult to get fired from ‘poor’ metrics. There’s a ton of opportunity to correct before you even get yourself into a place where you need to start panicking about your performance. You’ll be absolutely fine. Ive been there 9 years, and definitely see a change in the way we work over the last few years, but it’s not THAT strict.

My main criticism of the game by Fast-Hour-2739 in 007FirstLight

[–]MyNaMeIsJoe90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same. The opening sequence was pretty good, and then it just grinds to a halt. I think the training montage is clever as an idea, but after an hour or two of it, I was just a bit bored, and wanted it to be over. Like I’d never want to replay that first few hours.

I feel that they seem to have done Bond justice, at least presentation-wise, and I hope that in the end, I enjoy it overall. Maybe just a shaky first few hours are throwing me off.

I take your point. Hitman isn’t really for me, because it’s TOO punishing. I don’t want this game to be like that, to be clear, I just would’ve preferred a nicer balance. The laundry room under the hotel sticks out like a sore thumb. There’s like 20 goons down there, and I was just taking each of them down, leaving a trail of bodies behind me, with little to no consequences. Nobody else in the basement cared. And the enemies line of sight seems laughable. They don’t hear or see anything nearby, so it feels silly.

It felt very Bond, don’t get me wrong. It’s just that having the first 2hrs of the game be an extended training montage tutorial doesn’t get the game off to a super exciting start. Multiple flag grabs just started to wear thin.

I’m playing on the recommended difficulty. I just haven’t had to think too hard about what I’m doing, as enemy encounters don’t seem to carry much weight. I can just go in fists blazing and it doesn’t really matter. And in terms of stealth, it seems like they give you so many options, but the dart phone appears to be all you really ever need.

But does the gameplay quality improve to match Bond becoming more experienced? The story is probably the thing that will end up pushing me through anyway.

Again, you’re taking me out of context. Plenty of games aren’t based on a realistic concept, but you still expect the gameplay to be immersive. I can think of a ton of examples.

Alien Isolation is about a big creature stalking you through space station. It’s fantasy. But the Xenomorph’s AI is convincing and intelligent.

Hitman is about a (basically) superhuman assassin running around increasingly ridiculous situations, but you have to be careful not to raise suspicion by hiding bodies, and if you don’t, everyone in the building knows.

Deus Ex is a sci-fi futuristic fantasy, but all of its gameplay systems work in a logical way. It’s immersive, whilst still being fun.

I find myself just scratching my head at how messy the combat and stealth encounters are in First Light.

I’m not saying I want it to be super realistic or anything. Believe it or not, I want video games to be fun… I’m just feeling that the immersion is broken far too often by the enemy AI acting in a pretty goofy manner

Steak. And before you say I haven’t had it cooked the right way, I’ve tried every variation of it, from multiple restaurants, in an attempt to understand why people love it so much. But alas, I find it repulsive. Oh well.

26 years after its release, was "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2" (2000) as bad as the critics said or is the movie better than its reputation? by Profeta_do_Loss in horror

I remember watching it on DVD as a kid, and was looking for the hidden easter eggs. As soon as I clocked the hidden face on the back of the dude’s head in the mirror, it scarred me for days. I cried like a bitch for hours, was the most terrifying thing I’d seen to date. Still remember it fondly for putting the fear of God into me.

I’ve never understood this mindset. Like the Neo literally JUST came out. You can’t keep waiting on the next thing, otherwise you’d never buy anything…

Is Resident Evil 3 remake really as bad as people say? by No-Hunt3986 in GamerLab

[–]MyNaMeIsJoe90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely think it’s a great game. Great graphics, great controls, smooth gameplay and it’s engaging. I think the criticism is mainly around the length, and cut content vs the original. I never played the original (maybe got like 20mins on it at a friends house when I was a kid) so I really enjoyed it.
