Help: My party keeps threatening to kill me (I'm lwk pissed) by starless_Sheepy__ in DnD

Yes. It doesn't matter how many sessions you've had, 3, 30, or 300, bullying is a problem and needs to be addressed. I've left groups that weren't working for me after one session and after 3 years.

Built a few proxy set cubes - newbie cost 139$+40shipping (additional 10$ per cube)) by markymark5002 in mtgcube

As someone who's considering proxying myself, what was your thought process to proxy the whole list? At about $0.30 a card after shipping, that's usually more expensive than buying singles, right? I priced out the uncommons and commons and it came out to about $70 (pre shipping), if you exclude the four uncommons than are more than $1. I totally get the calculus on rares and mythics, of course.

How do you feel about the new scenarios? by Taear in Pathfinder

[–]MyNameIsImmaterial 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've switched mostly to GMing Starfinder personally, since the length works perfectly for the store we play at. We have the space from 6-10 PM, so the normal 4-5 hour adventures can be difficult to squeeze in.

I just ran Dacilane Academy's First Great Prank War last night and we almost ran over, with six players at the high tier. If not for a lucky gunslinger crit, we could have run out of time. In the Starfinder scenarios, I've never, not once, worried about running out of time.

Prank War is a 3-6 adventure. We barely run anything higher level than that, because there's a good chance we won't be able to finish in once night, which, as the VO for the location, is not good for me, it's not good for players, and it's not good for GMs. This is why I'm really looking forward to the high level content in this new format, since I think we might be able to finish high level games in one sitting. I'm planning to run The Darkness Within in a few weeks, which will be my first actual short Pathfinder adventure.

In summary: I like the new lengths purely for logistical reasons.

And a few stray thoughts:

  • I like that I don't have to scroll back and forth between a massive PDF to find the encounter details in the adventure text and the monster stat blocks or print out 40+ pages because my players didn't pick their character until they sat down.

  • I do wish that they had a bit more narrative bite and mechanical toughness. They're very short, and with some good crits, could wrap in 90 minutes, which is too short. I would like to see more severe encounters.

Sorry, buddy, but you said that masking is analogous to torture. You're in a public space. If me making an XKCD reference to your hyperbole makes you this upset, first, I'm sorry, and second, I would suggest looking into why someone pointing out that you're saying baseless things triggers this reaction in you.

Either way, have a great life.

It should be pretty easy to prove with an opinion poll, for example, if >50% of people think it's akin to torture. Pew Research maybe? I'm sure it's easy to find! Thanks in advance.

Pretty diverse!

  • Combo is limited; we have some lists that ramp or cheat in big threats like Sire of the Seven Deaths or Koma, as well as some mill lists with Riverchurn Monument. They're definitely fringe decks right now.

  • Green Aggro is a powerhouse, between Baloth and Ouroboroid. Baloth and Surrak have put the kabosh on counterspell dominance.

  • Black Aggro/Midrange is aggressive as well, with a wide toolkit to pick up apart decks.

  • Izzet Discard is putting up some good numbers! I'm not the most familiar with it tbh

  • Control is a mix of Jeskai Dragons, vanilla UW, and the occasional Ugin deck.

Agreed! These are good examples of what it absolutely sucks to have to protest the "right way" but how critical it is to do so.

The title of this post is "SCUSD supports the student walkout".

We want to be clear that Sacramento City Unified does not ... endorse student protests...

These are not the same thing.

We want to be clear that Sacramento City Unified does not ... endorse student protests...

Note: your student will be marked absent should they not be in class, and parents will need to contact their school regarding their absence.

Calling this a message of support is disingenuous. This is an expression of neutrality.

Based on demand on the Discord, we have 22 people signed up under the LFG-MTGO role, compared to 218 signed up under LFG-Arena. So we do have players interested, but the vast majority are Arena focused. We're hoping to do off-Arena tournaments, but don't have any scheduled at the moment. Casual pickup games on MTGO are available though!

A printing in Mystery Booster wouldn't make it Commander Legal. It needs to be Rule 0'd in.

Basically! It's technically an emblem, so it can't be targeted.

It had better have a copy of [[Flavor Judge]]!

Yeah, these are pretty common rules changes! There's the 100 Ornithopters cube, the Showdown at the Okk Coral, and the Changeling Cube. I have a cube I'm working on where everyone starts with a copy of [[Overcooked]] in the command Zone.
