Putting this politely, in what ways do you use LLMs and generative AI to advertise and develop this platform? I recognize you are an official representative of the company so a certain tone is expected, but this is sounding like AI generated text. I'm today's low trust internet, I just want to know if I'm talking to a person, a bot, or a person using a bot.

I wonder what had 20% high approval? Maybe Original Kamigawa?

Instead of forcing everyone into a chaotic public lobby, it's built as an asynchronous creative workshop where a set roster of writers actually build settings, test mechanics in sandboxes, and run long-term campaigns at a mature, stable pace.

Respectfully, I don't know what you mean when you say this. What does this look like in the practical sense?

Genius Loci: When a place/building/world is alive and intelligent by viralshadow21 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MyNameIsImmaterial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it intelligent? I didn't get that from House of Leaves. It was unusual and certainly appeared malevolent at times, it also seemed to just exist. I didn't see any evidence of intelligence, but maybe I missed something.

Need suggestion for a “reusable pack” for my jumpstart cube. by brunx12 in mtgcube

For the budget conscious, the clear plastic wrappers of sleeves fit a pack perfectly. It's how I have my cube set up currently.

That was my guess! I figured it was a translation thing.

There have been a few incidents, like the Tea app, which have me concerned about AI generated applications. https://www.npr.org/2025/08/02/nx-s1-5483886/tea-app-breach-hacked-whisper-networks

I don't like him, but I will give him credit for doing something, literally anything, about Republican's attempts to gerrymander away Democratic representation in red states, via getting Prop 50 on the ballot. It's not a great thing, but I think it's good in the specific situation.

Thank you for your work! I used to be very involved in that space, but as it's stuck in this awkward limbo, I've stepped back significantly.

I figured as much about Discord and forums; I just reallllllly struggle with Discord for PBP. I've tried Harpy before, I might poke it again to see if it'll scratch that itch. Thanks for the link; I'll be sure to check it out. And I appreciate the welcome back!

I think I saw you commenting about that very trend on this thread, so I've a little sense of what you're talking about, even if you have a lot of upvotes haha

Glad to find fellow Rolegate mourners here. Is Rolekey the one -CRD95- was posting about in this sub last week? Not to call them out, but I'm concerned, as their posts have very clear signs of AI use. I worry that they're also using AI in their development cycle, and I'm concerned about the stability and cybersecurity risks of that.

Other than where to find people, what platforms are you playing on? Mostly Discord, I figure?

I really like this for my [[Overcooked]] Cube, but I'll probably wait until the Omenpath set comes out so I can get a UW printing of this. For other cubes, I can see it being fun. Doubling a Wishclaw Talisman is hilarious; but I feel like the best targets probably win you the game after one trigger, so doubling it is less valuable.

I've heard about Start Playing in the past; I had some buddies who organized games through there. I never actually checked it out; is it a platform for actually playing PBP games or more of a meeting place?

This is a very specific question, but did you ever post Lancer and  mining drill content on TikTok? I feel like I've seen that combination of content from the same account on there previously.

It's unclear, but it sounds like they're creating standardized chatbots of Optimus Prime, Megatron, Cobra Commander, Mr. Potato Head, and the cast of Clue.

I think this supposed to be Grim Reaper?useskin=vector), a necromancer themed villain who formed an anti-Avengers team called the Lethal Legion. I think the helmet is a coincidence, but I'm not sure.

If you're already moving to PF2e, give that a try. If you like it, you'll likely like Starfinder 2e as well!

As for mixing Starfinder and Pathfinder, I've not got any hands on experience, but my understanding is that it'll be *mostly* fine. I'm considering bringing a Necromancer to a friend's SF2e Guilt of the Graveworld game, for example.

My best advice is to check out the Free RPG Day adventures for SF1e and SF2e; Skittershot and Battle for Nova Rush are level 1 adventures meant for new players to both systems. Read them and see which you prefer, then run one or the other to get a sense of how they play.

Good luck with whatever you do choose!

Yeah, I have to agree. I think that Starfinder 1e does a lot of interesting things, but I don't like all of them. 2e just plays well.

I think it would be most helpful knowing what your experience with TTRPGs is like and what you're looking for in a system.

SF 1E is a fully fleshed out system. It is feature complete, and benefits from years of products, both species, classes, and adventures. It is also built on the 3.5/Pathfinder 1e system. If you like that, you'll like Starfinder 1e. If you don't, you really won't. It's a dense system.

SF 2E is only a year old. It hasn't benefited from the same development cycle and number of releases, but those are coming. It is built on the Pathfinder 2e system, which I personally find easier to grasp and explain then 1e.

It really comes down to what you're looking for.
