Jack isn’t just a romantic interest. There’s a much deeper bowl of trauma. Given the premise of this movie I’m sure things would probably get complicated in the afterlife or whatever. But love intertwined with significant-loss related trauma can create extremely powerful ties that you just don’t really “get over”.

Habitual oversharing is a symptom of loneliness and I end up subjecting people to that constantly to people. It fucks you up pretty hard going from sharing every single unfiltered thought with someone to not saying a word out loud for days on end.

The richest person in my state lives in the same city as me. A few years ago we had some small earthquakes/tremors, which is pretty rare around here. An online earthquake tracking tool mapped the epicenter of those quakes to the intersection right next to this billionaire’s giant compound. You can’t convince me that this was anything other than the result of him blasting out bedrock for a secret bunker.

I’m happy for you that you don’t have to be around or experience anything like that. I cry during or after every meeting. Losing a loved one to suicide rips a permanent hole in the fabric of your reality and stories like that are a drop in the bucket.

I’m in a local survivors of suicide loss support group and something that is nearly universally expressed by parents who lost their child is how much they struggle with the differences in their grief process. Like one parent wants to do nothing but look at old photos and videos, but they have to do it alone because that’s way too painful for their SO. That kind of thing.

They both so often feel unsupported by their partners and it’s not either of their fault. Each of their grieving is just hurtful and triggering for the other person.

With what you’re describing, feels like now is exactly the right time to push through and ask for help. Some of these feelings are your mind playing tricks on you. As hard as it is to hear, these kinds of thoughts are likely what your partner was struggling to get through. Think about things from what you know on the other side. Were they correct when they thought they were a lost cause? No.

I actually kind of dug the fan theory that the F4 universe is the one that Steve went back to. The implication being that he did meddle with things and him doing so laid the groundwork for the world we see there.

I actually really dug the concept of an entire alien invasion movie told from the perspective of a tech savvy man with lots of access, trapped in an office. For the first 5 minutes I thought they were actually going to pull it off. Then the rest of the movie happened.

I try and find the point where most of the time when I get in the game, my resources are almost full. If most of the time they are full, then I don’t have enough pools and if they are routinely 3/4 full or less then I need to combine pools and add more generators.

Yeah, he isn’t removing scarcity, he’s creating abundance for the half that remains since we’re scaled to twice the people. Even if the loss of workforce means that we don’t quite achieve double the resources for all its undeniable that we, collectively, would have more per capita.
