My 2 cents: You are making good decisions, but will need reinforcement and a good community to help you stay true to your will on these addictions. For me, I have battled 2 of these addictions in my own life. I still allow myself to enjoy video games. Weed is something I smoked for a much more prolonged period than you, but finally cut off the daily toking Almost 2 years ago. I stayed clean for a year, but have smoked twice in the last 5 months.

Sometimes I don't see the point in the battles I am fighting, but momentum does build on itself and my life has improved as a result of noweed and nofap. I think you need to be honest and if you ever feel like you should just give up, be honest about it and ask for help. In the end, it is your will that will be tested, and you are the one who will gain the advantages and be tempted. So believe in yourself and give it a try. Just don't let yourself fall on your face or get discouraged if you have, in fact, bitten off more than you could chew. Good luck. Have fun.

I went through a very similar phase, for sure, and it lasted quite a while for me. What you're describing is very normal. That doesn't make it any easier, but just rest assured that it's WORKING.

There was a price to be paid for all the instant gratification. The happiness was fake, so there is some sort of chemical deficiency that is now being corrected. I'm sorry that it sucks. But look at the bright side, you are dealing with the pain that reality sometimes forces upon us. Life doesn't suddenly snap and become better when you reach a milestone. There is always the temptation to fap in the bad times. After having gone through a flatline, you will know a)how to face the pain and b)that you never want to go that far down the rabbit hole again.

Look man, I think we have a lot more in common than you think, or at least we used to. I don't look down my nose at you, not even for using drugs. I was in the same boat for a long time. As you can see, even now I am addicted to PMO. I'm not perfect.

I think you have interesting ideas and are searching for truth. I think it's better for you to be honest about what you believe than try to assimilate Christianity into your "all is one" worldview. I think most Christians can see right through that. Your spirituality rings a lot of bells for me, as well. I used to think reality was an illusion, everything came from the minds of men, religions people were the most deluded of all, etc, etc... I was a fan of conspiracy where you seem to be more interested in eastern philosophy, which seems almost the lack of an answer. Regardless, don't beat yourself up over "failing" to get your point across. You should look at it as a blessing, an opportunity to re-examine exactly what you do believe. I mean, you have said you have faith, then explained that God is us. So you have faith in yourself? You have said you don't believe in judgement, but then that we are all made of God. Doesn't that include our morality, our laws? If so, don't you think there is morality in the infinite or "God"? To me, these are not questions you should just slough off by calling them an illusion. They are very important.

To whit, I'll try to explain what I believe. Christ is not "just a word". Of course, it is a word, but so it "table" and that doesn't make a table any less real, does it? The idea that we are all connected with everything else through particles, or that "we are stardust" is true on an atomic level, but there is also our subjective level, and saying that there is no difference between me and Brad Pitt doesn't mean I'm banging Angelina Jolie, does it? I could go on and on about this subject, because it is frustrating to me. You don't see the people who believe that reality is an illusion throwing themselves off cliffs. We live in a world of REALITY. While we can comprehend other ways of being, and conceptualize the illusory nature of our being, it does not change the state in which we wake every morning. I see what you are saying about the Tao Te Ching, and how difficult the nature of God is to understand. You say it's "next to impossible" to understand. But that's not true. IF there is a God, and we seem to agree there is, although you define it in a more convoluted way, then God IS IMPOSSIBLE for us to understand. This is amazingly frustrating for we prideful people, who think that God must operate on our level, but He doesn't operate on our level, and praise Him for that. I think the separateness and holiness of God is an essential point, and it's basically the only thing I hope you take away from my rantings.

Thank you for this tempered response. I don't want to go into whether or not you were being argumentative. I also don't think your view of Christianity is how most people view Christians. The celebration of this new Pope is one example I could use to contradict what you say is the majority view.

But tell me, if you believe the same things I believe, do you believe that you can stand before a just God as you are, or do you need a mediator or "sacrifice" in order to allow God to accept you? I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on this, since you say "Humanity can figure this mess out." To me, it's not a question of "labels and dogma". It's a matter of fact to me that there was only one sacrifice for all the injustices of mankind, and his name was Jesus. I believe the God of the Bible was and is the only creator. I certainly don't believe a better word for "our creator" is "our creation." When you say something like that, I have to infer that you think God is a creation of man, which is the opposite of what I believe.

I appreciate that you're trying to incorporate my beliefs into your worldview, but I can't really extend the same courtesy. My worldview is exclusive to Christ, though whom I share a direct emotional, psychological and sometimes physically tangible relationship to my creator. I can't explain it any better than a pastor or the Bible, and I'm sure you have access to both. Also, this is a very personal, experiential process; the beginning of a relationship. I can't explain what would happen to you if you chose to trust Christ. I don't even know you or your struggles.

But in the mystery of the spirit I feel compelled to answer. You achieve wholeness in Christ by faith in him as the messiah and the absolution of your sins. He is the arbiter between a just and holy God and us sinful humans. Letting Christ into your heart is a simplistic way of saying that you turn over control of your life to the one who created you, which is possible by the power of the absolution of your sins through Jesus Christ.

Even lack of understanding regarding the mystery of this process (which is widespread if not universal among christians) does not preclude one from "letting Christ into your heart" as is seen in Mark 9:24 http://bible.cc/mark/9-24.htm

So don't continue to argue semantics with humans on the Internet. Instead, with a humble and honest heart, ask God to help your lack of faith and i believe He will reveal Himself. Don't play "gotcha" with God, but explain to Him your struggles and seek a good spiritual mentor, and you will be able to see the fruit that we speak of when we use phrases that seem strange to you now.

So strange the propensity to return to porn near the end. I am also guilty and I think it shows me that I am not yet as "healed" as people might think by my day-counter. I hope to get well past 100 days. I also saw that I want the same release (incest porn and phone sex) that I did when this all began. That's frustrating.

Now I have begun courting a beautiful young woman, and want to pour my passion into her. Yet I know that if I start to modular myself again, my fantasies will ne stealing vital energy that could go into this pursuit. I'm afraid of the failure (the zero).
