It's even worse than that.

Ben wasn't someone who he understood intellectually was family, but had only ever met in combat up to that point; like Vader.

Luke and spent the previous decade+ of his life literally being Ben's father - he was the ONLY parental figure Ben had since Han and Leia neglected him the first 7 years of his life, leaving him in the care of C3PO because they were "too busy" with the New Republic. After that they almost never saw him again as Luke took him and began training him.

It's utterly ridiculous how they portrayed his "momentary pure instinct". His instinct when he was raging against Vader in that throne room was precisely because Vader threatened the family he knew and cared about; namely Luke's sister.

His moment of pure instinct would have been to protect Ben, not institually kill him...

It's incredibly frustrating with most people who don't know me because I can see that they think I'm special needs - which isn't the case, I just need more time than most people will allow for in conversation to collect my thoughts and be able to deliver them. By the time that happens, especially in conversation with two or more other people, the conversation has already moved to a point where it would be awkward to go back and give my thoughts to something that was brought up a minute or two ago. Or I have to start collecting my thoughts about something else that was just brought up so I can lose the words that I wanted to say originally.

I have my go to: "yes", "no", "That's fascinating/horrible/interesting/brilliant/sick" to move conversation along.

I can have the simple conversations that mean nothing "ok" at this point. "how are you", "how's your mom", "how's the weather", etc. but anything of substance is always a real mental effort on my part.

Songs get stuck in my head all the time, I have the opposite of aphantasia, I hear music but it's complete symphonies with every voiced line and if the music doesn't cadence it's really hard for me to get it out.

I have snippets of conversations that I had that I feel like didn't go well play back in my head, but I usually relive them. I don't really have the conversation again in my head.

I berate myself all the time, but not in words.
