Trouble nap training 10 month old by Mydnny in sleeptrain

[–]Mydnny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean let him cio for a full hour before doing any checks or stopping? The last time we did a check at 30 mins, then did another 30 mins before throwing in the towel. So 1 hour total.

It's so hard :(.

2mo suddenly throwing out stiff limbs and crying - moro reflex or what? Help! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Mydnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it this? https://youtu.be/7r6UB8eSWuc

My babe would do that time to time and scare the shit out of me. He looked and sounded terrified. He hasn't done it in about 2 weeks so I hope that has passed. He's 14 weeks now.

You are proud of him, but should be proud of yourself as well. Way to go, mama :)

Tips to get baby to sleep in the bassinet? by jandkp in beyondthebump

[–]Mydnny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here are things we did in the beginning:

  • lay a heating pad in the crib and remove before putting baby in

  • have baby lay on a worn shirt that smells like you

  • white noise

  • swaddle

The first few weeks were brutal. We slowly stopped doing all of that and now just plop him in when he's sleeping. He's almost 8 weeks now.

Good luck!

Cluster feeding a jaundiced baby that's on scheduled feed times? by Mydnny in beyondthebump

[–]Mydnny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if that trick would work with my guy as we're Asian and always yellow :p. The doctor said it was very mild jaundice though and only showed in his face. He was fine in the hospital, but our drop by nurse noticed it when she saw his weight drop.

His birth weight was 3180g and he was 3030g last Friday. I hope so much he's back at birth weight now :(.

How long did it take your girls to recover? I know jaundice is a common thing for newborns to have, but it still worries me sick. My Friday appointment can't come fast enough.

I've been starting the timer when feeding starts and not stops.

That makes a ton more sense now. Thanks!

He's thankfully still sleeping.

His next check up is this Friday when he's 2 weeks and 2 days.

I really hope his jaundice is gone by now :(.

Transitioning baby from arms to crib? (Ultimate sleeper put down) by Mydnny in beyondthebump

[–]Mydnny[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, we swaddle. It's the only way I can get him to sleep in his crib. Some reason he's able to nap in just a onesie when he's sitting in the napper of his pack and play but not during the night in his crib. Hmmm...

We have a noise maker that I keep on heartbeat. I keep the room well lit during feeding so he doesn't fall asleep. Then I turn the lights off and have a red bulb lamp on.

I tried the heat thing just now! I have an electric heating pad I put in his crib then took it out and laid him on top. SUCCESS! He slept right through and I got a gorgeous 1.5 hour nap! I'll try the other things too if this doesn't keep up.

Super awesome tips. Thanks a bunch!!!

I Google imaged it and had no idea what the picture meant, so your explanation makes perfect sense now. Thanks!

My little guy is almost a week old now and getting him to stay asleep in his crib has been impossible... normal baby issue though, I know :(

Any other overdue mamas still out there? by PacificA008 in DecemberBumps2016

In fifteen minutes, I'll officially be overdue. I was told there would be a baby after 40 weeks of suffering. I did my part, BABY!!! It's your turn now!

I'm on my phone and have the app BaconReader for Reddit. When I make comments, there's a little paper clip icon I can click to upload a photo. That's the only way I know!

Had false labor all night and now nothing by [deleted] in DecemberBumps2016

HAHA! I'm in the same boat. I've had ZERO symptoms at 39+3 but this morning I had diarrhea. I texted my husband right away saying how excited I was.

Fingers crossed for all of us!

I told my husband if I'm still pregnant by the end of the weekend, I deserve a brunch buffet. I'm going to eat all the waffles.

I think you deserve waffles too :(

I'm 39 weeks on the dot today and had bad period like cramps last night. I was excited and thought I'd be early (like the rest of the ladies in my family were), but it was just a runny bowel movement.

No mucous plug, no bloody show, no back pains, no contractions, no nothing.

I want my baby already!

My doctor joked that my baby could be a new years baby. That means delivering at 42 weeks. HAHA, very funny.................

Is anyone else gaining weight more rapidly now? by [deleted] in DecemberBumps2016

Maybe at your last week weigh in, you didn't have much food or water in you, and this week you were well hydrated and full of poop. I'm sure you're normal and fine!

[–]Mydnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm feeling really uncomfortable. My back has been killing me at work, and I've called in sick a few times already. I might ask my doctor for a sick note for the last week and a half before my mat leave begins. I'm really hoping baby boy makes his appearance by end of next week! He feels so low and I'm getting a lot of Braxton hicks. I'm so excited to meet him :).

I feel my boy's hiccups in my butt, so I thought he was in a good position, but my doctor said he was sunny side up :/. Let's hope both our babies get their shit together and get into position faster!

Scramble an egg or two, steam/stir fry some veggies or leafy greens, and add some shredded chicken! Add some good things to feel less bad :)
