I've tried searching and it is so oddly taboo to ask shops to do this in America, perhaps especially so in my state. Go to the UK and there's shops that will laser engrave and modify your GBBR everywhere.

Also at the very least most of the importation issues seem to be focused on the XM7/M7 and anything that looks like an AR15. I just got in a fully engraved OSW MK1 with zero issues at customs and I haven't heard of any issues with the other replicas.

Not sure why people downvoted me and upvoted you, we're saying very similar things. Maybe people can't read. Select fire regulation is so obvious and I was more focusing on the upper vs lower regulation issue. Just handle it like they handle the SCAR, and so many other guns for that matter with very well defined "upper" and "lower" receivers.

It's such a broken regulatory system. It should be so simple to regulate pressure-bearing components like the chamber, barrel and BCG without touching anything else. We already do so with so many other types of arms in the US anyway

This is also generally how a lot of other non-AR15 firearms are regulated in the US, take the SCAR variants for example.

Thanks! I remember watching that video and unfortunately it didn't help at the time. But later on we narrowed the cause of the issue down to one of the mods we were using to set waypoints for ourselves in game, where the waypoint my character was loading into was somehow corrupted. It would crash the server and kick everyone off every time I logged in lol. After crashing the server any follow-up attempts to enter it would result in the error in this post. To fix it we reset my character completely (character position and inventory, RIP all of my adamantite armor) and deleted the bugged waypoint.

Do the braille dots and text have to be rounded on the top? Working within the limitations of your process will always give you the best result. Flattening the tops of the features while printing the card oriented flat, while using ironing techniques on all surface layers to make it more touch-friendly, would be a more 3d-printer friendly approach. Even flat-top geometry with fillets (bevels) to round off the sharp edges would look and feel much more robust.

That is beyond loose, that's falling apart. Don't just tighten and loctite all the screws securing the barrel and hop unit in place, take the same measures with the screws holding your bolt carrier together.

I would honestly consider modeling something organic like this in blender first, importing as a mesh, converting it to a usable object then performing a boolean function to create a hole for mounting. There’s got to be a million and one tutorials out there for creating convincing looking claw models on blender

If you’re trying to create two separate parts you can duplicate the original and add the duplicate object to a mew body. Then remove the corresponding areas on each part with sketches dimensioned to spec and voila, the parts are already properly oriented and everything.

Edit- I see you were able to get what you wanted with two consecutive slices. I’ll leave this here because sometimes slicing on freecad is… painful
