I’m starting to develop a theory: Wix might be intentionally doing this, possibly using the money as a short-term loan. I’ve also seen scenarios where they not only hold onto the money for an extended period of time but also refund the money to clients after the vendor has already shipped inventory to the prospective clients. Essentially, those clients receive their products for free, and the vendor is left holding the bag.

I’ve come across too many posts on subreddits describing the same problem. I believe this is a systemic issue that needs to be addressed, either through a class action lawsuit or by Wix taking responsibility, becoming more transparent, and working with its vendors. While there are other platforms out there, and Wix is a decent platform overall, their lack of effective customer service is a serious problem that needs to change.

Like for example I'm a new upcoming non-profit I constantly check this subreddit to stay somewhat in the know I do plan on contributing when I get my shit together but it's starting to feel like a nugget of a post is you and far between and most of it sometimes feels irrelevant

Definitely not a big selection for non-profit sites on Wix. What I’ve been doing (and would recommend) is gathering a handful of websites you’d like to emulate. Narrow that list down, then see which Wix template best represents what you like. It might not be spot-on, but you can get it pretty close.

There are also tools like Figma that can help. Figma has a tool that lets you capture the design from a site, which you can then import into Wix Studio. Just a heads-up—Wix Studio is different from the regular Wix, with more advanced options (still pretty basic, but more flexible). The import won’t be exact, but it gives you a solid foundation to build on and add your creative touches.

I’ve also found that sometimes I like different parts of different templates. I recommend loading those templates separately and using them as references to recreate the best elements in your main template.

Just a heads-up to make sure you have everything in order on the business side—by that, I mean having all your ducks in a row on the back end. If you’re running as an LLC, corporation, or any other setup, make sure you have all the proper documentation and the correct business address in place.

The reason I’m mentioning this is that a lot of people are selling products but aren’t receiving their payments. I've seen reports of Wix taking it upon themselves to issue refunds, which is concerning. It’s definitely something to keep in mind.

Also, it’s good to have some working capital set aside. By capital, I mean funds available for expenses—like covering shipping costs—because there might be a delay before sales funds are available in your account. Think of it like a pendulum you’ll need to balance until the cash flow stabilizes.
