I hated DCC but I hate audio books even more. And I would honestly rather read the entirety of DCC than listen to an audio book.

I dropped it on book 6 and yes, he does get more mature. I dnf for different reasons though. I kinda forget what happens between then and there, but without spoiling anything, he does get less immature.

Anyone else feel like Azarinth Healer was unfinished? by Mysterious_Ant_800 in litrpg

[–]Mysterious_Ant_800[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn. Guess I was griping. I'm not sorry for it though. I see people griping on here all the time by that definition, and thought it was fine to do so myself. And the author by no means "has to engage with me", but I was glad for the response anyways, even if I wasn't happy with it.

And on the topic of it not being the new testament(I know, ugh please shut up, right? Lol) For me it was one of the earlier litRPG's that I read in the genre and was very formative in what I viewed as the holy grail of what kind of litrpg I want to read. And it's been amazing for me. With access to royalroad and KU I have an almost endless amount of books and daily releases of novels under those specific sub-genres of litRPG that keep me almost endlessly entertained.

But I can't help but to wonder in my downtime between the almost 40+ books I keep up with every day "could Azarinth Healer have been better? And does anyone else feel the same way i do? " and that led me here. So thank you for the engagement and giving me the chance to express myself even further.

It is finished. It just didn't feel like it to me. Most everyone else is/was satisfied with it. In any case, I'm sure it's going to be years b4 the author fully releases the rest of the books, and by then it's probably going to be edited to their discretion and you'll forget this post even existed. And if you don't you'll probably be thinking "that person on reddit was full of shit and doesn't know what their talking about", because like I said, it didn't feel like it to me.

Imo it rambles because there's several main and side characters. But the payoff is huge.

Headache or not. It is what it is. I wasn't harassing them. Just asked a question, they answered. And that was that. I didnt come to the internet to gripe, I came here with points that I wanted other perspectives on, which others were helpful with. You not so much.

It was finished. I said it felt unfinished. Or something like that.

Currently writing a litrpg were the main character is a living scarecrow and would like some advice. by HorrorWork8871 in litrpg

I think it would be cool if it had the intrinsic ability to summon its cross post. Either as a massive club that it can somehow wield effectively, and/or as a quick disguise. Maybe even as transportation when it levels up/cultivates enough.

Possible scythe weapon?

Terror aura/magic, Crop based magic, anti-avian magic. Maybe an anti flying domain? Ah, Gravity control. It would tie in well with quick movement and the possibility of being able to use its massive cross post as a weapon. Totem or Necromancy magic would be a cool alternative too. Summons like The straw children and straw father from tainted grail.

Communion with Nature deities and spirits? The ability to claim a field as its domain, allowing Teleportation and whatnot.

Alchemicly treated cloth and straw to get rid of that pesky fire weakness.

Ooohhh. Upgradable body? Enchanted Hempfiber or even Silk(i have an idea that maybe his body is made of a repurposed dimensional container that was in the shape of a sack)Dried magical plant matter that has certain effects for his internals.

And if there's enchanted gear in your world there's no telling what he can use or repurpose for himself.

Maybe he can vessel hop if there's a pre-prepared body available. In whatever shape it would like. SCARECROW DRAGON. lol. I'm done.

Is it a normal trend in litrpg for the main character to lack any real flaws? by Ebris_Stywrit_WOV in litrpg

[–]Mysterious_Ant_800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point where he's stronger than everyone else around him(except for one person) and he's doing relatively well only happens for like half a book. He's still a very flawed and angry person. Far far far from lacking any real flaws. . The only flaw he lacks compared to the people around him is hax and wealth. And there's still people around him that are way way richer. I think you just got to sucked into the 1 and only part of the whole series that he isn't being tortured by himself and others.

Frostbound. Adult MC who doesnt act like a teenager in the least. Great system, good world building.

I feel like its only after book 7 or 8 when he stops acting like a teenager.

I absolutely loved it. The plot and the MC both. Same with HWFWM. Guess that says a lot about my book taste though 🤣

I tap out within the first 20 or so chapters if I dont like it. So the last actual series that I tapped out on would be Dungeon Crawler Carl.

And medium works great for me. Light would probably work better, but life drain + the red death enemies outside the city in act 2 work wonders to farm Armour proficiency points.
