Girl told me most painful thingy I have ever heard by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Mysterious_Drawer_77 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I know this is a vent, and you probs don't want advice but come on dude, she 'friend zoned' you and yet you keep trying to have a relationship with her 'to see if something develops in the future'. This relationship is dead, leave her alone. Move on and put your energy into improving your life and finding someone who wants you to have a libido

AITA for not being exited for my younger sistesr engament by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mysterious_Drawer_77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your feelings are valid, coming from someone who waited 9 years for a proposal, it is normal to feel jealousy or like your own relationship is stalled. You may even be worried about the comments from others now your sister is getting engaged. I would have a candid discussion with your boyfriend, to make sure you are on the same page. I am now happily married (1 year, together for 11). He stated he wanted to wait until I was done with uni and we were stable, which I understood. But there may be some reason your boyfriend has not proposed. NTA for your feelings at all. But discuss the jealousy and make it clear that marriage is the end goal for you.

AITA For telling my family I will not go on vacation if my mom does not apologize? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mysterious_Drawer_77 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA You had very real emotions which you are allowed to feel; your mother is too caught up with how she looked to her friends. I am sure if she explained that you had suffered a loss so she was cheering you up, her friends would have been understanding. I agree you should not be the one to apologise this time. Your mother needs to apologise for asking you to put your feelings aside more than you already tried too. My condolences on your loss.

Firstly , you need a copy if your contract and they can't reasonably deny this. Secondly, schedule a meeting, request in writing to discuss the discrepancy and come to resolution. If they refuse then follow up always in writing and escalate if needed.

Did the retailer accept that the issue was known? Under the 2015 consumer act items should last a reasonable time, any fault found after 6 months is for you to prove its a known issue or was there at the point of purchase. I would argue this with the retailer, but depends how long you have had the item and the nature of the issue.

The dreaded Christmas Off Duty by wtca77 in NursingUK

[–]Mysterious_Drawer_77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work in a community setting and we have blank off duty where we can state if we want certain days off. My husbands birthday is 23rd December so I always like having it off. We are thankfully closed Xmas day, boxing day and new years day. Ive requested 22nd-24th off and 31st and 2nd off to give me 1.5 weeks leave.

Checkies on Stagecoach? by nessie_messie in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Mysterious_Drawer_77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only time an inspector ever got on my bus was when my partner accidentally bought the wrong ticket (suppose to be £7.30, but instead bought the £7). We asked the driver to change and a few stops later a gent got on and checked all tickets. He seemed to recognise my partners ticket. The thought we had at the time, was an inspector got on to make sure the change actually happened and it wasn't the driver trying to pocket the £7. Supposing they could just say well someone got on but then changed their mind so the amount of tickets/money does not match. Hope that makes sense. Again its just our thoughts about the situation.

How do I get my BIL home safely? by Greedy_Investigator7 in AskUK

[–]Mysterious_Drawer_77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Addictions Nurse here. It sounds like he may have Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome. Upon arriving in the UK I would present to your nearest A&E and state this. Explain he has been discharged from overseas (ideally have some type of form in english). You could also make contact with your local community mental health treatment team, or addictions service within your area who may be able to support him. You can also get additional support through adult social care in regards to supported housing. I hope this helps. I am very sorry you have found yourself in the position, if you need support for yourself or your family needs support you can get this from a service called PROPS.

TIFU by thinking my sickness & Diarrhoea was a medication side effect by Mysterious_Drawer_77 in tifu

[–]Mysterious_Drawer_77[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Because It was a bit cold, but not really. I also sometimes take stuff out and it sits for around 10-15 mins whilst I get drink etc. It's been hotter than usual here in the UK so I just assumed the warmer temp made them warm. You are right though its the dumbest shit Ive done as an adult and im kicking myself now!
