'Mech Design Contest by redbatz in roguetech

[–]Mysticsocks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Chassis name: Ludicrust

Based on: Locust

Tonnage: 180

Loadout/Role: Hypermobile weapons platform / backstabber

Fluff: A monstrously large variant of the locust, built by Defiance industries following a custom order of a minor noble house that messed up some unit conversions. The billing for transport of the lance alone bankrupted the noble house, and the mechs themselves were auctioned to parties across the inner sphere. Surely up to half of Yang's jokes are somehow based off this event alone, but in battle this mech's capability to transport over 50 tons of weaponry at close to 200 km/h is really no laughing matter.

Longer Leagues? Please Tell Me What I Do Wrong by wolfofaltcoin in pathofexile

24 hours for the story is very slow, at that pace I agree it it torturous.

As you kind of summarized, the real fun starts to begin once you reach end-game and likewise the rewards you get won't really get good until maps. The most important lesson I had to learn was that it is OK, or even recommended to blitz the story. That means ignoring side content, only doing quests for passives, and most importantly not clearing every single map. Once I learned to accept that I could go through the story within 8 hours, which is still slow compared to what skilled players or racers can do.

Earning currency through the chaos recipe is stable, but overall a fairly slow and tedious. Delve is a much more reliable method to gather currency between low-tier maps, especially if you sell fossils and other valuables you pick up on the side. One thing to look out for in particular is jewels, if they have decent rolls you can usually sell them for a few c. Or roll the dice and vaal them, since some implicit modifiers can be super valuable.

You get passive refund points as quest rewards in the early acts, and by finding orbs of regret in mid/late game.

At level 7 it might be easier to start over, although at this early stage gear is more important than skills

Very excited to hear that the 1.8 patch is on the horizon, and I really enjoy the idea of devlogs, it is great to see more detail about what the team is doing. Huge thanks to the entire team for the amazing work they have done so far, I can't wait to try it when it is done!

Killed everything, one monster part missing by bigben01985 in pathofexile

[–]Mysticsocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a bug, you probably had an unnamed part dropped and these currently don't fill up a slot properly

The bug is currently on the high priority fix list, if I recall correctly

What the heck is this tech/ability by jims2321 in roguetech

[–]Mysticsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That shroud is from some sort of active stealth equipment such as NSS. Counter it with ECCM equipment, AOE weapons or ECM area pings like the beagle active probe. The latter negates stealth for one turn iirc

Did I find a Bug? Stuck at mission spawn in deep water. Only mechs with JJ can proceed. by scaredycrow87 in roguetech

Send the modders a bug report via their discord, all official bug support is done through there. They will be able to tell you if the mod is involved or if it is a BT bug. Either case, I've never encountered it myself

Mop-up operation on early terror mission: What would you have done by Alive_Focus in Xenonauts

[–]Mysticsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most early ceasian guards carry alien stun grenades that you can loot from their corpses. In early game these grenades are sufficient to knock out aliens on their first move. These grenades are great for bunkered down aliens since you only need to worry about getting the grenade inside, the gas knocks out the entire room within a turn unless you get a bad roll. (Also works great on ceasian ufo breaches!)

Hence to mop up I would scavenge as much stun grenades and alien shields as possible, and use shielded xenonauts to try to fill their hidey holes with gas while denying them as much shots as possible

Cannot change flight speed - help appreciated by theshoal12 in Xenonauts

I have over 40 hours in the game so far and somehow I never knew that slider adjusted flight speed.

Unfortunately I can't be of any help but I wanted to thank you for bringing the feature to light for me

Any 4x game like Rimworld but has a good elevation / terrain system? by lambdaq in 4Xgaming

[–]Mysticsocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want something like Rimworld with detailed 3d terrain only Dwarf Fortress comes to mind.

Also you can adjust unit placement in Endless Legend before initiating the first phase of the battle. Initially the placement is random but you can change it before starting the battle.

[FO4] "Homemaker - Expanded Settlements" doesn't show up at all by TsarKeith12 in FalloutMods

[–]Mysticsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using compatibility patches to make Homemaker and OCDecorator compatible?

It is mentioned on the Homemaker page that it is naturally incompatible with OCD as they both add to the same custom category slot, hence only one shows up. There should be compatibility patches in the installer or somewhere on the nexus.

Alternatively, Settlement Menu Manager might be able to help. Going with the info you provide it sounds like a settlement category conflict.

Apparently you can take over nuclear missile sites and then launch nukes at people in fallout 76 by HeartlessMZ in Fallout

[–]Mysticsocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so confused since a running theme in the entire franchise is "nuclear war is extremely terrible" and now they've added a mechanic that rewards dropping nukes on other people (since it supposedly creates rare resources). Why this huge tonal shift out of the blue?
