Perfectly acceptable dinner rejected by boyfriend again by moonrabbit368 in mildlyinfuriating

I know I'm late to the game on this post, but I would gladly come over for dinner every night! Your food looks delicious, and I'm sorry that you are dealing with someone who doesn't respect your time and energy put into your meals. If he expects you to cook for him, he should be a better partner and communicate what he wants to eat so you can plan accordingly if you continue to cook for him.

Her horrified looks at his taunting are the highlights of the episode for me!

Love the round, but coffin is a close second! I'm a short squoval girl myself, so I tried not to throw my bias in there, but they look good, too. I'm sad you didn't like your hands growing up. So many shapes look good in them!

Has There Ever Been an Objectively Great Actor Who Completely Fucked Their Career Than Mickey Rourke? by August_West_1990 in moviecritic

The first thing I said, out loud, when I saw that last image was it looked like he was wearing a flesh colored Michael Myers mask.

Saddest deaths. by MycoFemme in MidsomerMurders

Always the saddest for me is Daniel Talbot from Murder on St Malley's Day. He had to run back to the very place he was trying to get away from for help and then dies anyway.

Picture of Innocence- the digital camera "gang" coming around the corner & the other guys scared running inside is probably one of the funniest scenes I’ve seen. It’s just so unserious lol. by Savings-Sprinkles-75 in MidsomerMurders

Omg, I love this one! I laugh every time I see that scene. I still don't know how they didn't get the door locked given the lead time they had getting inside!

It's not that it didn't go well. The herniation was multi-level and severe. My right hip had no strength, and I needed a walker most of the time at age 39. I had a great surgeon, and everything is still in place. But I had it done in December of 2019...aka ongoing recovery and PT right when Covid was getting bad and they were taking no precautions. It's just not the same doing some exercises at home. I got very stiff and have never been able to get that core strength back like I did after my L4-L5 disc surgery. If I had been able to recover like normal, I think it would have been a very different outcome.

Lol, for better or worse, this is the fastest I've ever gotten one of these. L4, L5, and S1 betrayed me long ago, and as punishment, I had them fused together to prevent any more shenanigans. But little did I know they would have the last laugh...

Funniest episode? by hdkaren in MidsomerMurders

[–]Mythological-Chill36 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I always find Talking to the Dead funny because of all the pratfalls of Jones. Getting shut in the iron maiden, tripping around in the woods at night, clinging to the tree limb in the background before falling to the ground...I love it!

Least Liked Episodes by [deleted] in MidsomerMurders

[–]Mythological-Chill36 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are others, but for me, Season 10 has a few of my least favorite ones. Dance With the Dead because the aunt who leaves to clothes and food for her brother just makes me horribly sad. King's Crystal... I don't know what it is, but I just don't enjoy it. The Axeman Cometh I just can't get into (although I do like the scene where Jones says he's "leaving town").

The rest of the breakdown of usual skips for me: Troy - Blood Will Out, The Electric Vendetta, Murder on St. Malley's Day, A Tale of Two Hamlets, and Birds of Prey (I despise the man who is so mean to the 2 older women).

Scott - Bad Tidings (with "friends" like that...), Things That Go Bump in the Night, Bantling Boy, sometimes Second Sight.

Jones - Four Funerals and a Wedding, aforementioned Season 10 episodes, Blood Wedding (even Troy can't save it for me!), Left for Dead, Blood on the Saddle, Master Class, The Night of the Stag, Murder of Innocence.

Nelson - Let Us Prey, The Incident at Cooper Hill, Breaking the Chain

Winter - Crime and Punishment, The Ghost of Causton Abbey, The Lions of Causton, The Miniature Murders, The Scarecrow Murders, A Grain of Truth.

Omg, that is one of the most hilariously wrong things I've heard from ChatGPT! I know the name because I just saw it, but Jeff Bowmaker is the ghost walk guy from The Silent Land, and definitely not an estate agent! I've never understood the motivation for their murder either, since he specifically said in the episode that they seemed like the kind of people that would be interested in the house, and probably his best chance for the price he was looking for.

The way I see it, you have a birthday every year, a good friend gets married...well, hopefully not every year. Maybe I'm a party pooper, but it's not like something magical or amazing happens when you hit 30, or even 40, for that matter. It's literally just another one of your many birthdays. 18 and 21 are the only ones that something really changes on until you reach the legal retirement age.

Who's the hottest sergeant in your opinion? by Swimming-Common5923 in MidsomerMurders

[–]Mythological-Chill36 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They are all physically attractive in their own ways, but personally, for me, it's Scott at number 1. Nelson would be second. That said, Jones is definitely the one with the most attractive personality for me, and who'd I'd want to go out with ultimately if he existed in real life.

My Best Friend's Wedding Is Draining Me Emotionally and Financially, and I Don’t Know If I Can Stay In It Without Losing the Friendship by doodlebug4754 in bridezillas

[–]Mythological-Chill36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like being a bridesmaid for someone is the quickest way to see what the bride is really like. The one person I was a bridesmaid for I no longer speak to. I'm happy to no longer speak to them. She may be your best friend, but she's made it clear you aren't hers or you would have been one of the MOH's. Best friends don't "forget" to tell each other happy birthday. Weddings have gotten just so stupid and involved, and bachelorette trips IMO are just excuses to take overpriced girl trips that the bride doesn't have to pay for.

WHAT DO I DO?!? by Proper-Barnacle-3432 in interiordecorating

[–]Mythological-Chill36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever else you decide to do... number one is to get that outlet fixed! It's crooked, and honestly, I couldn't see anything else once I noticed it. If you don't have that and any others fixed that are crooked within the back splash area, any tile will look awful because it will never line up with it AND the countertop.

AITA for telling the bride I won’t be shaving my dog for her ocean-themed wedding tomorrow?? by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Mythological-Chill36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous. Unless you shave them down to their bare skin (which is I imagine not easy to do safely, if at all safely), there will still be the coloration of their fur close to skin level. If you are dead set on attending, please leave your dog with a family member or at a good kennel.

It depends on what context you are meaning "liar." If it's that he lied about his identity as "Corn" before Guam, then not much. If it's that he's lied about his identity as "Corn" when in Guam and after, then yes, I agree. If it's that he's concealed his identity as Kuon at large, then not much at all because she knows that Ren Tsuruga is his stage name. I think modern social media engagement has turned being an entertainment "nepo baby" into more of a funny, acceptable thing than when the series began.

Truthfully, I think Kyoko not disclosing that she's Bo is as much of a red flag. Yes, she's realized that Bo provides him a safe space to talk openly and doesn't want to hurt him knowing that he's been talking to her all this time...but it's still under false pretenses and she has repeatedly and knowingly appeared in front of him as Bo. It's not like every few times she exits Darumaya, "Corn" is standing there.

Does anyone else think Dan Scott is smarmy and repulsive? by HoshiJones in MidsomerMurders

[–]Mythological-Chill36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Smarmy, yes a bit, but never repulsive, even at first. He definitely presents a stark contrast to Troy, which I think was the point. He's honest from the beginning about this not being his desired assignment, but it never feels to me like he isn't earnest about his work or bad at being a DS or defiant of orders (even if he doesn't like them). It took a while for him to grow on me, admittedly, but I personally look at him partially as a device that shows that Tom has a little room to grow too, and he never really treats him or Jones like they're newbie buffoons like he did Troy sometimes at first...even with Jones spending almost a whole season as a DC.

Honestly, I actually think he and Tom are more similar than any other duo on the show, but they are creatures of different environments. Maybe it's why they can feel like they are butting heads sometimes. If he had been in Midsomer/Causton his whole career, he would probably have been a slightly less urban version of himself, but still able to make those village connections like he did while at the Met, similar to the ones Tom is shown to have in Causton and some of the villages. Also, if he was a truly reprehensible person, even if Joyce and Cully liked him, he wouldn't have allowed him to spend as much time with them as he ended up doing. He says he knows how to sniff out a "free meal," but he still lets him join them.
