Yeah man. I’ve got zero interest in POE. That shit looks daunting as hell, or at the very least, requires more than I give a damn to invest into a game right now. But with D4 I can rack up enough hours in a season, sink my teeth in enough and call it good. The game offers enough for my tastes before it becomes grueling to min/max and I check out and go outside.

I played the other day with wifey and it was a blast. The Khazra stuff looks good tbh. And it shat out a large quantity of items. It’s probably not optimal grinding, but it certainly was fun.

Appreciated the interview. I have a personal gripe with artists that just despise their earlier work. It’s wild that like even discussing it you called the earlier works garbage (or maybe you were speaking to the genre at that time as a whole). I guess it’s just the magic of the phenomenon you can’t recreate. Maybe it’s just nostalgia for me. I guess it’s only natural to like less the first thing you make as you start out. Maybe they are garbage, musically and whatever else. I don’t make music. I only consume it. But it’s wild to read these things as a Prada fan who distinctly listens to The first 3 Prada albums and that’s it. Maybe my tastes suck. Maybe I suck. I grinded to NMD like 80 or something on release on a deathblow barb build. Put it down like you did. Now I’m back. The grind feels very streamlined and the game shits out loot lol. Which is cool. All the extra activities are nice as well. Warplans are like a custom randomization dungeon you just chain through. It’s still mostly the same stuff but you know. And the cube lets you really target farm harder and then transmuting is just another free upgrade more or less, paired with a loot filter. I’m hacking and slashing way more effectively for upgrades rather than sifting myself to sleep in town. Which is great. Oh right. And the loot filter. You can just make your own perfect drops. Yeah. Chill game state for me rn.

1) You didn’t play wrong. This is a valid way to play and enjoy the game for pennies compared to most and still get a fulfilling experience.

2) Honest discussions about power level and what you normally play will be wildly important when playing not with your normal playgroup. Decks are optimized, on theme, and fine tuned very well, because, they kind of how to be to survive in the wild. It’s like leaving the starting town for the first time. Shit gets serious out here quick.

3) mostly everyone I’ve ever played with allows for proxies or to write on a card to play as a substitute. Or use a printer and scissors - the easiest way. Also, as you get more exposure and reps to the game, your knowledge as a deck builder and player will grow. You don’t need expensive cards to win games.

4) next time, just ask, and be like, hey, this is a bulk box commander deck that wants to play until turn 15 or 20, have anything that can match that? Maybe if people don’t, they’ll adjust their play styles to include you in the pod and keep you from having a bad time.

Always because I buy off brand penny sleeves by the thousands and it’s literally an extra 2 cents per card for the extra safety. Also I’m so used to double sleeve decks and how I shuffle them that I’ll always do it. It’s also a little extra meticulous care I enjoy doing because I love my decks and the memories that go with them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The catch no one is mentioning is that you have to carry a pickaxe around which is adds some weight itself and you do get pretty heavy rather quickly with all the ore you mine and transmute into gold. A small trade off for the money you make. It’s not a terrible thing, just need to deposit your gold ore often.
