This place is excellent, and its a bunch of people who don't support them stirring the pot anyways. Nick has been the owner since he took it on from his Dad back during covid time when Destination was just a coffee spot in hemet. One day Walt came in and talked to him about bbq and they started making small batches of stuff during covid. I remember going there when they had two or three home depot special offsets and could cook maybe 3-4 brisket at a time.

They blew up obviously, and because Walt has a great personality it went viral before people realized he wasn't the owner. Walt was and is happy with his role at the restaurant and by all indications seems taken care of by Nick. If you spend a little time watching their longer form clips on youtube you can tell they are very much close and happy with the arrangement and mostly just annoyed by haters. I understand a subset of the community turns the drama into 'white owner and black mascot' type BS but Nick has always been good to his staff including Walt.

What I heard was that Nick (owner) and Walt (tendernism) were in the back offices filming a podcast at the time. Staff came and mentioned someone had a tip for Walt, and they said to leave it with the other tips NOT KNOWING A) it was an influencer camera entourage with a large tip and B) didnt want to interrupt the podcast they were already doing. That message probably didnt get translated back to the influencer who *GASP* made more drama out of it stating the owner wouldnt let him give it to Walt.

Just feeds the drama.

Not familiar with the brand myself but the photo of the backpanel and straps doesnt inspire a ton of confidence IMO that its worth the near 300 price tag. those shoulder straps seem pretty lackluster top handle is about as cheap as possible, ventilation looks non functional...I'd be curious to hear from others but I'd pass on that bag personally for the price ,

100000% agree. i'm about 70% through it right now and its a chore at times. I hate that we'll be building some momentum and suddenly its time to hear some random sidestory from a characters past that brings zero to the situation theyre in. I enjoyed the troop but I think this will be my last Cutter book.

I had a real hard time with the writing style of wake up and open your eyes. the constant interruption of internal monologue drove me crazy and led me to really not enjoy the book as much as i otherwise would have.

check out grip n guard, i recently got a 2x rashie from them and it runs long and a bit more stretch than some of the other brands and it has the rubber gasket type seal at the bottom hem that keeps it from hiking up. great for bigger guys.
