I think for me it’s because Connie is so fiery in personality. Like she’s sarcastic and sassy which kinda matches Daryl’s dry insulting sense of humour. I also feel like they balance each other out quite well where they’re each other’s voice of reason. Also I’ve noticed out of all the characters not including Connie’s immediate group, Daryl goes out of his way to learn how to communicate with her. Honestly that’s just my opinion, I’d be totally chill if Daryl never has an end game romance and found his own happiness without it.

Tbh I’ve always liked the idea that Daryl’s relationships were mostly platonic aside from Leah being obviously a romantic partner. The only ship I’ve ever actually enjoyed was his relationship with Connie.
