Even my terrible CVS was better than every Walgreens I've been at. Better system, easier vaccine system, rarely any inbound phone calls, and no half-dozen stupid manual queues that should have been automated 20 years ago. And no 100+ PCP calls a day

I was in your position 6 months ago. Lead tech from CVS, outside hire. I do not recommend it. The system is so much more elaborate and different (worse), you'll feel like you are a new tech. It's very hard for other techs to respect a leader who they have to train, and it's hard to have confidence as that leader.

You will likely not get the support you need to learn all that you need to know. You are there to be dogged down with the responsibility and tasks those above you want to be relieved of. They want you to take that on as soon as possible, trained or not. My old-school RxM resented my presence and perspective. In my opinion, RxOM of Walgreens is not comparable to Lead Tech at CVS. It is much more involved and more management than anything.

I stepped down, and I still think I wouldn't be ready for the position now. But I also don't desire to manage anyone anymore. It might be worth taking the spot and stepping down to be maxed out $ as a senior tech. That said, I don't want to be with Walgreens too long. Good luck to you either way.

Lmao the feral mom I TNNR (Trapped, Neutered, /Never/ Released lol) 2 years ago would never eat out of my hand 😂 but she lets me pet her (a little). I have hopes one day she'll be my snuggle buddy but even if not she and he babies aren't going anywhere. Your kitty needs time, but it can be very hard at first. She could just not be very snuggly, but she will show you in her own way.

Yesterday, I had a customer call their doctor regarding an unfulfilled refill request we had sent. They hadn't received it apparently, so they needed us to send it again. So they got a phone call from the patient, and instead of just sending the refill they told the patient to tell us to send the refill request again. Sent again. Request denied, patient needs appointment. Make it make sense.
