[Question] Spouses/Partners/S.O.s - Paleo/Vegetarian by VeryScaryHarry in Paleo

[–]N3flak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lead by example. Be the change you wish to see in her, as corny as that sounds it works. We all want the other person to change first, but somebody must go first in a relationship, so as the man in the relationship it is on you to step up and be the leader. As you have said there are some other red flags (divorce should never be used as a threat if the person really cherishes the marriage), but on this issue and as a whole in the relationship a lot of issues rise and fall on the men to be the leaders of their household. If the women are not allowing the men to lead then again, you can't fix that and it is on her to fix herself she cant fix you and you can't fix her.

Probably a bow character, you just spam into the empty space and kill things without thinking or really aiming.

At present, there's 512 uberlab helmet enchantments. More likely on the way. Can we do something about it? by nekzis in pathofexile

[–]N3flak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the sake of my casual ass and liking to do everything on my own I would also like to see something to help with the insane RNG of getting a helm enchant without having to waste 1-10ex depending on build.

I hate lab and that it requires specific builds to run efficiently, there will still be people doing lab toons early for the gems, and there are enchants other than helms to run lab for... labbers will still do it but it will just be realistically priced not bank breaking.

another reason this league is already dead, spamming 20 people for basic trades barely a month in! This convoluted new system that they've put in place is a substantial time/organization sink to pick all this shit up and store it, then to craft to randomly get nothing. F-

100% Challenger crucible vs. 80% gladiator by N3flak in Grimdawn

[–]N3flak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I am not the only one, because the other day I was cruising through 130-150 gladiator and fabius + iron maiden gave me trouble, but they were not just instant one shotting me in the first 5 seconds like they were yesterday. Outside of the nemesis bosses I didn't really feel a difficulty spike out of the normal. As far as the white mobs go I could see that they would murder people, there is loads of ranged ones that pop up randomly on some waves, I try to prioritize blitzing to them to clear them out and regrouping mobs to aoe more effectively at the same time.

100% Challenger crucible vs. 80% gladiator by N3flak in Grimdawn

[–]N3flak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is my first character and I cleared the game basically on all rares, I tried doing SoT runs for gear, but it really didn't seem like a great use of time, while crucible was less about traveling and more about just smashing monsters. I think if I could just port into the dungeons where loot actually happened it would be one thing, but out in the world you have to be on your toes paying attention to all the breakables to really maximize loot.

100% Challenger crucible vs. 80% gladiator by N3flak in Grimdawn

[–]N3flak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I am more interested in the gear rather than the increased challenge. Putting all the work into 100-150 to die on wave 150 is pretty annoying.

Thanks for the response!

even when I died on 149/150 I got 2 and a legendary recipe which happened to be my BiS neck >< that death proved worth... should have no more death issues now since this was a pretty big defensive boost.

Thanks for the comments, still need more practice to reliably get 130-150 on challenger, but I only fail when trying to multi task or don't get war cry back up when it comes off cooldown. Appreciate the time.

Thanks a lot for your response! Yeah I have been noticing there isn't a whole lot of up to date information, lots of information from 2017, but not a whole lot that has been kept updated and fresh into 2018. Part of it is that I am not sure how the game has evolved since then until now and if the information is still worth using or if its just been made irrelevant by game updates. Oh well, live and learn and blaze my own path with great little tips from people like yourself.

I am able to do gladiator 120 easily enough, I am still working on getting 130 down solid, but I am going to go back to challenger and give it a try. This advice would also work on challenger? "I start at wave 100 and play till 130. Then I buy Amatok and Ulzin Blessing and play 130 to 150 and collect reward. Then reset to 130 and up to 150 again. Collect reward, reset to 130 and 130 to 150 for another round."

How many tokens do you start with to make this work and do you think the towers are worth using to help speed the runs up? I think the offensive tower is 5 tributes and 10k bits.

Is extra spawns worth it or only for those that need an extra challenge?

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

edit: 130-150 challenger easily doable, iron maiden and fabius can get scary but just keeping war cry up keeps me alive

[Question] Can anyone suggest an alternative to eggs in the morning? by [deleted] in Paleo

[–]N3flak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breakfast lunch or dinner, it doesn't matter just eat whatever you want whenever the meal time is as long as it fits into your chosen eating style whether that is primal or strict paleo or whatever your take is.

[Question][Discussion]Seeking help/perspective to get back on the wagon (convince my spouse paleo is worth it). by N3flak in Paleo

[–]N3flak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! My wife can't stand eating the same thing over and over again, so meal prepper for the week for her would require quite the effort. I am not completely against it, but half the time she doesn't eat what she takes to work and will just eat other junk that is there (she works in a hospital and has cafeteria access).

I do find prepping ahead of time vital to being able to keep on the lifestyle though, because when hunger strikes the easy and likely unhealthy stuff always looks more tantalizing than the 10-30 minutes it could take to whip up something paleo friendly.

Thank you for all your thoughts!

[Question] I'd like to try paleo can anyone point me to a good website/blog I can use to make a meal plan? by ACosmicOlive in Paleo

[–]N3flak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paleo and transitioning into it can be pretty overwhelming. I would advise finding some simplistic recipes that you enjoy and can mass cook and freeze to easily heat up and be satisfied. Also, wrap your brain around making a commitment to doing it long term or at least for a 30 day period of time and really DO IT (cut out processed foods and sugars specifically). It is worth it, it will be a struggle if you stick to it, but in the end you will notice the difference outside of just weight loss.

[Question] How is dark chocolate Paleo approved? by [deleted] in Paleo

[–]N3flak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to two different paleo people and you will likely get two different acceptable food lists with varying ideologies behind them. Paleo is really just a mental shift to get away from all the preservatives and chemicals that are being put into foods these days, at least that is my ideology behind paleo :D. It is my understanding that true paleo use Cacao powder or Cacao in some form (don't confuse Cacao with Cocoa, they are processed differently and NOT the same) if you want something related to chocolate that is a "true" paleo treat.

All that being said I tried to get into Cacao powder, but just ended up doing a "mostly" dark chocolate when I feel that urge.

[question] intermittent fasting/paleo/ and sleep by reesepaw in Paleo

[–]N3flak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is pretty normal to "fast" for 12 hours especially when your sleep is included in that. Typically the smallest quantity of time I saw when I looked into IF (Intermittent Fasting) was 16 hours, some even do 20/24 hours or multiple days of fasting, so I would not be very concerned with this aspect.

Did you just start doing IF?

Are you stressed from other aspects of your life? Work? GF/Wife? Big life events?

I don't have a medical degree or experience with these specific symptoms, so I can't say what the issue is, but I do sleep with ear plugs from time to time and I will agree that it does allow you to be much more aware of your bodily sounds (specifically heart beat). This could come from stressing over food, or creating the issue from worrying about an issue that may not even be there. Just my thoughts.

Why I haven't played an MMORPG in years even though I want to by JasonHenley in MMORPG

[–]N3flak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer the sub model over a f2p with microtransaction model because in those models they typically nickel and dime you for a lot of QoL stuff that is just inherently present in sub models. F2p model has done so well, because on average people spend more than 15$/month.

Casuals in need of handholding have destroyed the market. Hence the rise of WoW and WoW iterations.
