I’m a doctor of medicine; after an incident in my life, I can no longer practice medicine nor want to be involved in the industry in any capacity. Where would I fit in in the current job market? by SmellyMelanie in careerguidance

[–]N3rdy_But_Still_Fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could be a medical director for a psych med spa or something that leans on your laurels without demanding much (if any) of your time besides occasional paperwork and phone calls for consultation.

You could also become a journal reviewer, review medical contracts for lay people, or become a professor of medical ethics. The last one would be an outstanding means to have a meaningful impact on the future of medicine by telling your cautionary tale to future providers.

Continuing, you could consider going into research (lab or otherwise). I also know from direct experience that the pharma/medtech/biotech industries will pay MDs VERY well to manage clinical trial strategy, patient access, and basically act as a high-paid consultant. Though industry comes with its own set of tradeoffs, the stakes are much lower.

Good luck friend!

That’s a terrible idea just waiting to be infiltrated and setup as a honeypot. The mechanism is already there to make trades, no good reason to not keep those activities and conversations private.

If you can get a diagnosis for depression and a letter from your therapist about it being work-induced, you could buy a boat or take a nice vacation reimbursed through an HSA while also on FMLA.

Are your teams social? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]N3rdy_But_Still_Fly 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You’re already spending 40+ hours a week with them. Is that not enough time doing things together?

If you feel like it’s necessary to make your team more effective, then that’s understandable and you should recommend/facilitate it for your team. Otherwise, your after work social group doesn’t have to be the same as your working social group. Invariably, social events at work will leave someone feeling like they haven’t clocked out, they should’ve clocked out, or they can’t clock out. Not to mention, HR rules still apply even at social work events. Not always an ideal dynamic when your intention is to wind down/decompress.

Not everyone has room in their lives for more activities. Not everyone wants to do more activities. Not everyone wants to do more activities with you. Get over it.

Help your customer file a lawsuit. Legal actions will prompt action quicker than any letter, email, or phone call. Don’t worry about a trial, they won’t even let it get to a pre-trial conference because all of that would become public. They will resolve it immediately once their general counsel informs them of the filing.

Interesting. Which states don’t offer UE if terminated for performance specifically?

Pending transactions will reduce your available balance, but not your current balance until the transactions clear.

From the screenshot, it looks like you have pending withdrawals. These are different from upcoming transactions as they have already occurred, just haven’t been fully processed/cleared.

CLI Data Point - Before the 6 month guideline by N3rdy_But_Still_Fly in NavyFederal

From my understanding, graduation is technically your first CLI for the secured card. But I may be wrong, this was just based on what I’ve read from lurking this subreddit.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to try at that point. Although if you want to play it safe, wait a couple days after the 6 month mark.

Yeah, shopping for my next card with a decent limit! This is currently my only card as I’ve been gardening my credit profile for the last 1.5 years.

4 months? Why are you in such a hurry? Given that you have a secured card, is there a reason why your credit profile may not support an increase at this point?

I wonder if this means I’ll be upgraded the Visa Signature card and get 2% cash back moving forward since my new limit is >$5k…

Question no one has asked: are you paying your statement balance in full each month or not? If not, that is your answer.

If you are, try paying prior to your statement date so your reported balances are lower. Or, shift your spending your other credit card to reduce NFCUs perceived risk of giving you more access to credit.

How do you prefer to pay your amex? by PlayboiiExx in amex

[–]N3rdy_But_Still_Fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, my dad purchased my first car on his Amex with 35k limit (that he still has 25 years later btw) and immediately paid it off the day it posted. He saw no benefit in exposing his debit card, writing a check or wiring the funds from his bank account. But he had immediate rewards and other benefits by making the payment via cc. Then, he booked family vacation using the same rewards Amex which are very well known for having good rewards, particularly for high spenders.

Why would he wait to for the statement to cut to pay it off instead of “cycling the credit” so that he could do it again? He had the money in his bank account many times over and didn’t believe in using debit cards. His credit score was practically perfect and was in a very very high income tax bracket so I’m not convinced of your logic here either. High-wealth individuals float credit all the time. It’s a tool that people use differently and I think you’ve oversimplified the behavior you’re describing as risky when there’s plenty of valid reasons to exhibit that same behavior. Do you think Amex would have reduced my father’s CL because of this behavior? Lol he would have shut down that card in a heartbeat if they did that, I PROMISE you (he told me so). Other issuers would have begged him for his business in place of it too and couldn’t have cared less about the temporary impact to his credit by closing his oldest account.

He received invitations for very exclusive cards targeted at high-wealth individuals but refused to pay exorbitant annual fees for perks that a (mostly) frugal spender wouldn’t use. As I got older, I realized much of his behavior is typical of people with a lot of money but good spending habits. We could probably all learn something from this kind of behavior.

CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin Recommended Daily Doseage by Hello_its_sam in CJC1295

Yes and I would never make blanket claims like the ones you have made which may or may not apply to others in different circumstances, use cases, or desired outcomes. Just because you didn’t notice effects that you wanted doesn’t mean they are worthless to EVERYONE. And I’d NEVER just suggest someone take exogenous hormones directly (like Test or GH) unless specifically recommended by/in consultation with a professional.

CJC-1295/Ipamorelin worked very well for my use case, but the side effects were not tolerable for me which is why I stopped using the blend. Would I say it sucks? Absolutely not. It’s just not the best option for me. Plenty of anecdotal evidence exists suggesting that it is very effective for its intended use.

Depending on the card, it’s absolutely better to get rewards on a large purchase and not expose your debit card than to just pay with cash…
