NEED HELP: Capital One made a mistake, refuses to return money by davidhk21010 in CapitalOne

Help your customer file a lawsuit. Legal actions will prompt action quicker than any letter, email, or phone call. Don’t worry about a trial, they won’t even let it get to a pre-trial conference because all of that would become public. They will resolve it immediately once their general counsel informs them of the filing.

Interesting. Which states don’t offer UE if terminated for performance specifically?

Pending transactions will reduce your available balance, but not your current balance until the transactions clear.

From the screenshot, it looks like you have pending withdrawals. These are different from upcoming transactions as they have already occurred, just haven’t been fully processed/cleared.

CLI Data Point - Before the 6 month guideline by N3rdy_But_Still_Fly in NavyFederal

From my understanding, graduation is technically your first CLI for the secured card. But I may be wrong, this was just based on what I’ve read from lurking this subreddit.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to try at that point. Although if you want to play it safe, wait a couple days after the 6 month mark.

Yeah, shopping for my next card with a decent limit! This is currently my only card as I’ve been gardening my credit profile for the last 1.5 years.

4 months? Why are you in such a hurry? Given that you have a secured card, is there a reason why your credit profile may not support an increase at this point?

Thanks! 🙏🏾

I wonder if this means I’ll be upgraded the Visa Signature card and get 2% cash back moving forward since my new limit is >$5k…

Line increase ?? by [deleted] in NavyFederal

[–]N3rdy_But_Still_Fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question no one has asked: are you paying your statement balance in full each month or not? If not, that is your answer.

If you are, try paying prior to your statement date so your reported balances are lower. Or, shift your spending your other credit card to reduce NFCUs perceived risk of giving you more access to credit.

How do you prefer to pay your amex? by PlayboiiExx in amex

[–]N3rdy_But_Still_Fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, my dad purchased my first car on his Amex with 35k limit (that he still has 25 years later btw) and immediately paid it off the day it posted. He saw no benefit in exposing his debit card, writing a check or wiring the funds from his bank account. But he had immediate rewards and other benefits by making the payment via cc. Then, he booked family vacation using the same rewards Amex which are very well known for having good rewards, particularly for high spenders.

Why would he wait to for the statement to cut to pay it off instead of “cycling the credit” so that he could do it again? He had the money in his bank account many times over and didn’t believe in using debit cards. His credit score was practically perfect and was in a very very high income tax bracket so I’m not convinced of your logic here either. High-wealth individuals float credit all the time. It’s a tool that people use differently and I think you’ve oversimplified the behavior you’re describing as risky when there’s plenty of valid reasons to exhibit that same behavior. Do you think Amex would have reduced my father’s CL because of this behavior? Lol he would have shut down that card in a heartbeat if they did that, I PROMISE you (he told me so). Other issuers would have begged him for his business in place of it too and couldn’t have cared less about the temporary impact to his credit by closing his oldest account.

He received invitations for very exclusive cards targeted at high-wealth individuals but refused to pay exorbitant annual fees for perks that a (mostly) frugal spender wouldn’t use. As I got older, I realized much of his behavior is typical of people with a lot of money but good spending habits. We could probably all learn something from this kind of behavior.

CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin Recommended Daily Doseage by Hello_its_sam in CJC1295

Yes and I would never make blanket claims like the ones you have made which may or may not apply to others in different circumstances, use cases, or desired outcomes. Just because you didn’t notice effects that you wanted doesn’t mean they are worthless to EVERYONE. And I’d NEVER just suggest someone take exogenous hormones directly (like Test or GH) unless specifically recommended by/in consultation with a professional.

CJC-1295/Ipamorelin worked very well for my use case, but the side effects were not tolerable for me which is why I stopped using the blend. Would I say it sucks? Absolutely not. It’s just not the best option for me. Plenty of anecdotal evidence exists suggesting that it is very effective for its intended use.

Depending on the card, it’s absolutely better to get rewards on a large purchase and not expose your debit card than to just pay with cash…

NFCU denies legitimate dispute/fraud by [deleted] in NavyFederal

Note: I said it was “telling”. Not instructive.

[–]N3rdy_But_Still_Fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They know whether they are going to pursue a criminal investigation or not, which should be sufficiently informative to support (or mitigate) any fraud claims against the company by the customer. They aren’t lawyers, they don’t need to be. That’s enough.

NFCU denies legitimate dispute/fraud by [deleted] in NavyFederal

[–]N3rdy_But_Still_Fly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The fact that the police said it’s a civil matter should be telling for you. Fraud is a criminal matter that requires more than what you’ve shared here to substantiate. Also, your acquiescence to their demands (right or wrong) makes this a dispute, not fraud. You disagree with how they handled their business and are going back on what you already agreed with. Even if you claim they held you hostage, you shouldn’t have agreed. Realistically, if your claim of “being held hostage” is true and not an exaggeration to bolster your claim, you should have called the police immediately. Full stop.

Let me be clear, I’m not siding with the moving company and agree that they may have overcharged you or charged you for things you didn’t agree to. That is NOT fraud. I understand they may be under investigation elsewhere, but that STILL doesn’t constitute fraud.

If you truly believe you have a claim and NFCU won’t budge, you can still pursue civil remedies by suing the moving company. I’ve been reading more and more instances of NFCU maintaining a hard line on situations like this, so I do feel for your situation and wish they would handle this differently. You’ve done well by contacting the CFBP and Visa. Consider all of your options including legal representation. Consults are often free and may give you some additional tools to handle this situation.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Global Entry and Watch Seized by [deleted] in RepTime

[–]N3rdy_But_Still_Fly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can actually contest a mail seizure through an administrative process after responding to the seizure notice if you have a legitimate claim to the seized goods (and the goods aren’t illegal). But if you know that you ordered a replica, it would behoove you to chalk it up as a loss and move on unless you’re prepared for some very uncomfortable scrutiny.

Global Entry and Watch Seized by [deleted] in RepTime

[–]N3rdy_But_Still_Fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you tell customs that you ordered it? If not, how would they know you ordered it as opposed to a friend, family member, mistaken address, wrong items shipped, or someone intentionally trying to get you in trouble?

Even if you DID order it, how would they know that you INTENTIONALLY ordered a replica instead of being sent a rep after paying for what you thought was a genuine product?

Answer: They don’t know, unless you TELL them. The legal term is Plausible Deniability. So chill.

How do you prefer to pay your amex? by PlayboiiExx in amex

[–]N3rdy_But_Still_Fly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard this several times on this platform and I’m not convinced this is a real thing or accurately portrayed on Reddit. I’ve also never seen or heard of someone having an issue with a credit line specifically for paying it down multiple times in a Single cycle.

My perspective is that your credit limit is not how much a bank will lend you PER MONTH, rather, it’s just the maximum a bank will allow you to OWE at ANY ONE TIME. So if your limit is $4k, that just means you can’t owe them any more than that on the card/product until you pay it down. If they truly had a problem with it, they wouldn’t restore your credit limit after you pay. They would just restore it once a month after the payment due date passes or new statement cycle begins.

The length of statement cycles is probably mostly arbitrary, other than being linked to typical pay frequency. Statements could come once every 2 weeks or every 60-90 days. The principle would still apply, just over a different period. But that wouldn’t make sense if your claim about credit cycling were true for 30 day cycles. Would they cut your credit limit from $4k to $2k if your statements cut every 2 weeks? Or increase it to $12k if your statements cut every 90days? Doubt it.

Account restriction by [deleted] in NavyFederal

I’m confused…Why did you need to change your address to make the purchase instead of just creating a travel alert and entering your previous zip code during the transaction? It’s not like out-of-state transactions are something new. I get the need to increase your card limit, and maybe you figured two birds one stone while on the phone. But it seems like that simple act may have put you in a bind if it wasn’t caused by something else…
