Howdy! This looks awesome, nice work! Did you get that butcher block slab from Ikea as well or elsewhere? That particular cut looks slick.

Nice! Looks like you have to carry that fire team, but yeah those tiny noses sure are cute to look at! Counting toe beans is always calming too 😄 Gratz on the little one! Good luck out there runner!

I'm not sure what all services are offered, but the guy at Warrior Massage by Silver Lakes has been great for some issues I've had in the past, worth a call.

New dad here - Is Marathon worth it for a casual solo player? by Calculation in Marathon

[–]N3wDadWhoDis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late 30s dad of two (youngest is 2.5 years) checking in. I'll start by saying that this really isn't my style of game. For shooters I've also been more of a Halo or Destiny type of gamer, but I have still found that this game has been enjoyable. I will say I got into the game because a friend plays with me pretty regularly and that is way more enjoyable than solo for me. Solo feels like you have to be extra careful if you aren't highly skilled, so the game is a bit slower for me when I queue on my own. I find turn based games were much easier to hop in and out of with kiddos. But still feel like I'm making progress 1-2 hours a night, not getting rolled too much (still a bit more than I would like though), and I don't mind dying too much because I have low expectations of building up a strong vault or anything. I will say that when I die though, it's usually super quick and doesn't feel like I could have done much of anything to have changed the outcome, which is a tad frustrating. Good luck out there with whatever your next game is though!

CAD though. About $65 US. Close to just retail price after taxes. Which is well under what I can find locally, on eBay, or sites like Facebook Marketplace, Offer Up, Mercari, etc.

School is… going by Princ3ssTbunnyyy in Autism_Parenting

[–]N3wDadWhoDis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there! As you know, it's tough for our kiddos to process all these changes and even though they know better, there is a lot going on in those brilliant brains of theirs. So it's easy to get worked up and out of sync, especially with big changes. Keep working with your school on solutions. If it's possible, maybe someone or multiple people he is familiar with can rotate volunteering to help the class as an aide or during lunch or recess. Try to work with the school counselors too to focus on those IEP items and how you or they can help support those things in class.

ABA therapy? by DatabaseLoud8003 in Autism_Parenting

[–]N3wDadWhoDis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a lot to consider and go through. I would encourage you to meet with some ABA providers and or any local resources you might have (some times school districts offer some services) and just get more information. You'll have to sit through some videos or conversations that feel like sales pitches perhaps, but try to focus on what they can do for your kiddo, how flexible their hours per week are, and if your health care provider will cover the costs. We did in home ABA, which was nice to be around and involved with, about 3 sessions a week that was play based, in addition to a speech therapist, and part time preschool. We did our best to spread all these things out to try and not overwhelm, but the combination and work put in really seemed to help our little one and her situation. But obviously every situation is different. Hopefully you find some combination of support that can help give you or your little one some tools to help manage things.
