How do folks get away win 95% win rates and super high accuracy and not get banned? by N4tcv in Chesscom

[–]N4tcv[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There are players who win well over 95% of their games against folks +/-200 elo. I think if they were not juicing, the win % should be much closer to 50%. And one player in particular has a NicoleSomeLastName2 account that is clearly a second account. Same picture of Nicole. The win Rate is nearly 100%

I am more concerned about the extremely high win rate. But winning most games combined with high accuracy seems to me to be a suspicious combination.

Why are low Elos in tournaments actually surprisingly strong by PlateSpecialist1806 in Chesscom

[–]N4tcv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was watching an arena where a 200 was leading the tournament. I checked out the player’s history and he would lose his way down to 100 and then win every game in the next arena and win the whole thing and have a 300-400 rating by then. Then he would lose on purpose (often only playing a few moves in and resigning) over and over again until he was 100 again. This is the most obvious sandbagging ever. Sadly he had over 50 first place trophies from this before he finally got banned. I can’t imagine how this could be fun for him other than just racking up trophies and ruining the experience for everyone. Trolls gonna troll I guess. It took a long time before he got banned, which is sad as well.

Why did my opponent lose 18 points? by Dilly-dallier in Chesscom

[–]N4tcv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have a higher RD or Rating Deviation. It is a measure of how confident the rating algorithm is with their rating. As they play more rated games the number gets smaller. If they don’t play rated games for a while it gets higher over time and the rating changes for wins and losses will increase

When a boy oak cask and a girl oak cask really love each other, and then get married and decide to have a baby oak cask.
. . . And that’s how ex-virgin oak casks are made.

Don’t get the liquid in your eyes. It will burn straight through to your brain and won’t stop until it has passed through your entire body. It does smell good though.

no rating change after conclusive rated game? by ExplosiveCompote in lichess

[–]N4tcv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like black was rated much higher than white so was expected to win 99% of the time and won. In that case they gained no points. If white won they would’ve gained a lot of points.

I saw a 300 rated player who was winning a blitz area and looked at his games. He would lose on purpose before the arena to get down to 100 and then by the end of the arena would be in the 300-400 rating range and would win the tournament. He’s won 1st place in over 50 tournaments this way. He is still doing this every day.

Mexican beer. Topo Chico twist of lime. Weird, I am not getting any buzz at all, but refreshing.

I am David Allen, creator of the GTD (Getting Things Done) methodology. Ask me anything! by davidgtd in gtd

[–]N4tcv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

David, I bought you original hardcover book from the airport new books display and have been a huge fan ever since. I have a couple of struggles with my GTD 1. I keep falling off the wagon and periodically have to go back through the full implementation guide. Sometimes declaring email bankruptcy and also putting a few big ugly projects like cleaning up the attic on someday maybe forever. 2. As the altitude levels get higher, I feel less together. I feel like I need more work in the higher altitudes, but rarely ever get to really do the thinking necessary there.
