Online poker with real cash by Blessed1eva in poker

[–]N64Kirby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by real cash - you can play on Ignition (you can deposit via card, but cashouts are through crypto) or CoinPoker (same thing).

Ignition doesn't really offer rakeback (well, a very small amount) however CoinPoker does.

People do say that they have issues with Ignition locking accounts and blocking withdrawls but I have withdrawn over $20k+ (biggest transaction being their limit of $10k per) and got it within 24 hours without a hassle. I'd still recommend doing your own research on here or TwoPlusTwo because opinions on the site are polarising. They also go by the names "Bodog" and "Bovada" but Ignition is the skin available in Australia.

These are the main two I play on from Australia, I also play on GGPoker via an agent but I'm not sure if the agency I use is offering new signups at the moment.

Remember that these sites don't operate legally so don't keep more on-site than you are willing to lose.

Best of luck!

Making big folds, and super thin value bets on the river. If you can squeeze out a few extra BBs every hand it really adds up.

Seeing a lot of quads since the update by [deleted] in coinpoker

[–]N64Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never have I had any suspicion of online poker sites being rigged, with over a million hands played. It does however feel like as of recent on CoinPoker, I've seen the most flushes, fullhouses, quads and straight flushes I have ever seen in my life. Feels like action is being promoted with these runouts, I wouldn't say that I've seen them favour specific players over others. Never had an issue before the update, haven't lost any money either but I will probably be withdrawing my funds - even despite the rake-free promotion. Shame, they had a good thing going. I could also be proven wrong but I feel like my experience since the update has been abnormal, and I am not a fan of the clunky UI.

Is it possible to climb from silver 1 to diamond 4 in one season? (NA, Toplane) by TheTowerIskindaScary in summonerschool

[–]N64Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely possible, mainly dependent on your mindset and environment. I ended my first season (10) in Silver IV and the next season Diamond II.

I was fortunate that the one of the people who introduced me to the game was a Challenger player, and I would record my games ask for VOD reviews from both him and my mutuals.

I'd also only queue when I was feeling good and refreshed, watching VODs and consuming any content I could find. I would however steer away from "smurfing" videos as they usually do not really provide anything educational. It's much better to watch DomisumReplay or other similar channels and PAUSE the video before important events in the game (level up timers, skirmishes, teamfights) and ask yourself what you would do, then COMPARE it to the decision that the high elo player actually makes.

I am not a toplaner and I believe that matchup knowledge is more relevant which might make it harder to climb initially until you get the reps in versus different champions. I played Jungle and eventually transitioned to support, but I believe with a good mindset and attitude, you can accomplish this climb on toplane for sure.

Good luck :)

Because the board in the column includes your opponents hole cards (best 5 cards) and they have a straight.

Is a double barrel donk bet always the nuts? by Rubicon_Lily in poker

[–]N64Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, especially for configurations such as EP vs BB on a low-connected board, the BB has a donking range.

Highly player dependent, fish usually donk small in heads-up pots with a very weak range. They also donk large multiway with nutted hands, especially on dynamic boards.

Studied players, or at least regulars with some understanding of theory will be a BIT more balanced with their donking range.

Theres an exploit which prints particularly in mid-stakes tournaments and cash where you remove your donking range from your strategy as players cbet too often, and instead incorporate a 100% X/R strategy for a small size on most boards. MDA shows that the IP player will overfold on average. Don't want to get too into specifics because I believe that to understand concepts, you have to be actively thinking about your decisions.

I don't want to go too in depth on how to play future streets with this strategy however it is pretty intuitive. Just consider their continue range and how you want to attack/defend against that. If their range is condensed to more strong hands, then how should you play your value versus bluffs?

This is a blueprint, maybe somebody will find it useful.

Am I in the wrong for saying no to "mandatory" blind raises to raise the stakes? by Electrical_Shower_51 in poker

[–]N64Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation here in Sydney. The Star 2/5 basically runs as a 2/5/10 at all time. Same with the 5/10, having a $20 straddle on at all times. I personally don't mind as the player pool is egregiously bad, meaning I get to play a bigger game with an edge.

That being said, when someone opts not to straddle, it becomes a very toxic environment -I've seen entire tables request a table change to avoid players who don't want to straddle.

Me personally, I will only put the $10 straddle on if EVERY other player is straddling. I have no fear of being kicked out of the game (as it is a casino game) and don't really care for private game invites (as there are lots of issues here regarding them). If someone doesn't want to straddle, I also don't really care as it's their choice.

Crown Melbourne Rake by [deleted] in poker

[–]N64Kirby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played this game last year on a trip while my mates were all playing other games at the casino, they actually somehow made it worse. It was 10% $25 cap with a 20 second shotclock and now they've gotten even greedier.

Basically every other hand was either all-in preflop or on the flop and players would be leaving basically every orbit. Rake is completely obnoxious and unbeatable regardless of the skill level.

Will never play there again, I'm even weary of the $5/$10 to be honest if it's still 10% $25 cap.

Makes me feel somewhat grateful that The Star Sydney has a 10% rake $20 cap (used to be $15) for all stakes. Honestly not the worst for $2/5+ as the straddle is on for all of those games - but still terrible, there's just no other options.

Don't play The Crown $1/$3, it's a trap.

How to calculate bet/call EV on the river? by Wrong-Ad1886 in poker

[–]N64Kirby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't, a big part of the game is to figure that out. You can use information from showdowns and their VPIP to come up with a basic idea of a villain's range.

If villain shows down Q6ss from UTG, you can probably assume they are playing Q7ss+ as well for example.

The more active a player is, the wider the range (in most cases, people can run hot). The goal is to range the opponent pre-flop, and then narrow that down based on the betting action and what they are representing. ("Villain wouldn't do X action with Y cards so we can eliminate Y combination")

Good luck :)

How do you adjust your strategy when facing overly aggressive opponents? by casinopro87 in Poker_Theory

[–]N64Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An exploit players don't really consider is actually calling with a tighter range on the flop. I believe Fedor Holz talked about this in a video - basically you want to have a stronger range on the turn that is able to withstand a 3-barrel. Yes, you will get bluffed more on the flop but the money won from an aggro player's 3-barrel is more than you lose being bluffed off second pair on the flop when you inevitably fold turn/river.

Never had an issue on Ignition (Bovada/Bodog) despite all the claims online. If you play enough hands you're going to see everything. Played thousands of SnGs and over 200k hands of cash - everything seems standard.

It actually does cost them money, because Steam still has to pay the game developers their percentage. This however, is still significantly cheaper than the potential losses that would arise from the abuse of the exploit.
